As I was saying to Fitzy, I was supporting Vera but it's a real shame O'Malley got injured. Up until then he looked like an absolute killer and had Vera looking bewildered.

Also, while JDS has been my favorite heavyweight for a long time, I gotta say he's been finished as a title challenger for years. Sadly, he's no more than a gatekeeper right now. The only time I remember a gatekeeper do anything significant in recent years was when Bisping beat Rockhold. I don't think JDS will ever see the top again. He just has that intangible thing where you're scared watching him and you're worried that he's 1 punch away from getting KO'd at any moment.

For the main event I think Stipe knocks out DC again.

I need to clarify, I was only laughing because O'Malley is a bit of a flog and because of the build-up video package. The injury stuffed him, for sure.

I thought JDS looked in great shape when he entered the Octagon but it seems to be one of those things where fighters get older, they get caught in a bad moment and that's it.

Thought it was a great main event and Miocic deserved the win. I wonder how much that incident with DC's eye is going to eat at him.

I'm feeling sensi levels of fragile when I look at o malley. Second time he injured himself in a fight, first injury was even worst if I remember correctly. Great mentality but built like a nerd that he is

DC ruined his legacy tbh he should have retired after the first stipe fight. Dude is announcing potential retirement for two years now,definitely tempted his fate to finish his career like this. It would have been selfish thing to do but atleast there would be debate alive who is the goat. Now there is no debate in my mind.

Feel bad for DC, I know in his prime he would have beaten Stipe but after the first round and then the eye poke in the third (which is one of the worst eye pokes I've seen) he wasn't able to do much and Stipe managed to grind the win Usman style with the clinches.

Sucks for O'Malley but I dont really feel bad for him after all that shit he talked . I'm 50/50 with the stoppage because he definately wasn't hurt but I don't think he would have been able to continue into the second round as he was stumbling and limping already. Probably would have been better for him if it was a doctor stoppage rather than a KO/TKO like that though.

I dunno man, I watched it a good 10 times, he gets hit with 3 to 4 big shots but he's still fine then puts his guard up again before Herb decides to stop it. One of the shots pinged his head back for a split second but he always looked fine, even immediately after the stoppage. He obviously didnt complain because if it carried on he would have got his face rearranged and had no chance of a comeback.

He looked sharp until the injury but the guy is made of paper. Thats 2 big injuries in 4 fights.

I dono either man. To me it looked like the elbow* knocked him out clean for a sec. These guys are so insanely conditioned that even when they get put out for a second, their brain instantly restarts the moment you stop hitting them and they immediately get up and start grabbing your leg in an instinctive way of defending themselves.
