Does anybody here watch Mixed Martial Arts or train? I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I am a Kickboxer and have learned some real good Muay Thai skills. The big MMA(mixed martial arts organizations) are PRIDE FC and UFC. K-1 is the Kickboxing organization and it is Huge in Asia. Somebody please post on this thread lmao I really enjoy training and watching these fights and I hope somebody else on this board does. Or if somebody is interested in getting into watching it I can be of assistance to getting you started.

I've started watching a bit ever since Roberto hooked me up to a place which provides great videos of MMA fights.

I haven't had the chance to see a wide range of fighters or fighting styles yet as i'm relatively new. However, one cannot help but take a liking to Wanderlei Silva for his grit, determination and that killer knee. :D

Ciao,
Tim

Remy Bonjasky is insane Tommi, I hate Mark Hunt he fought in PRIDE against Silva and won via the worst unanimous decision ever. Mirko Crocop is my favourite who doesn't love a guy who Ko's everybody with a left high kick :D . Katiey add me to msn and we'll discuss some videos.

I was never into Martial arts for some reason. I like to settle my differences verbally or by my beloved Avtomat Kalashnikova model 1947, or as it's known now AK-47 :star:

I dont follow his career or this sport so much to understand the meaning of insane. You mean insane as a great sportsman or insane as a total asshole? :D
I hate Mark Hunt he fought in PRIDE against Silva and won via the worst unanimous decision ever.
Don´t know about that either. What did he do? Or were the judges just biased/crappy or something?
Mirko Crocop is my favourite who doesn't love a guy who Ko's everybody with a left high kick :D
That´s true, i can´t tell you anyone who knows his style that doesn´t like him. :D

When I said Remy Bonjasky is crazy I just think he is a good kickboxer and exciting to watch. As for the Hunt vs. Silva fight, Wanderlei Silva was just the better man he took Hunt down controlled the fight on the ground and was able to take Hunt's big strikes. Wanderlei definetley should've won by unanimous decision. Hunt outweighed him by 45 pounds when they fought. As for Mirko Crocop what else can I say i love him. He is just amazing he is even getting better as he is training to become a better overall fighter working on many aspects of his game but there is no question he is the best striker in MMA today.

Wow what a great PPV. Everybody in North America order Pride Critical Countdown 2005 it was awesome.

Sergei Kharitonov def Pedro Rizzo - TKO (strikes)

- Sergei just layed a beating on Rizzo throughout the whole duration of the fight and than the ref had no choice but to stop it when Rizzo was on the ground and Sergei was landing huge shots.

Maurico "Shogun" Rua def Antonio Rogerio Noguiera- Unanimous Decision

- Best fight of the night, one of the best fights i've seen in a long time. Both fighters were amazing and its a shame nobody finished the fight.

Alistair Overeem def Igor Vovchanchyn- Submission(Guillotine)

- This fight was a let down I was expecting a nice stand up battle but what I got was Vovchanchyn getting caught in a standing Guillotine 80 seconds into the fight and tapping.

MIRKO "CRO-COP" FILIPOVIC :star: Def Ibragim Magomedev- TKO (Body Kick)

- Ibragim looked impressive his punches looked hard but nobody can stand with Mirko he is too quick dodging all punches and landing his own. Mirko fired a high kick and just grazed Magomedev's face than shortly after that he lands a huge kick to the liver that sends Magomedev down and the ref stops the fight or else Mirko would've landed some huge punches in on the ground. After the Fight Mirko called Fedor Emilianenko to the ring and they made the Heavyweight Championship bout official for August's Final Conflict 2005.

Kiyoshi Tamura Def Makoto Takimoto- Decision (Unaminous)

- Good exciting fight but both of these fighters are not at the same level as everybody else on this card. This fight was to please the japanese fans.

Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera def Pawel Nastual- TKO (strikes)

- Nastula a judo champion from Poland looked pretty good early on in his debut match getting Noguiera on the ground and getting a couple good shots but Noguiera is one of the best heavyweights in the world and as the fight progressed Noguiera took control. Noguiera ended up on top of Nastula and raining down the blows until the ref stopped the fight.

Ricardo Arona def Kazushi Sakuraba- TKO (Corner Stoppage)

This was a very exciting fight but Arona was just too strong for The Japanese Legend and dominated him for 2 rounds. At the end of the 2nd Sakuraba's corner threw in the towel.

WANDERLEI SILVA :star: def Kazuhiro Nakamura- TKO (Strikes)

- Nakamura is a very good fighter and was fairing pretty well but Wanderlei was starting to land some good shots. Nakamura was wearing a GI top and in the middle of the round he took it off and right after Silva landed a shot that sent him to the ground. From there Silva passed the guard got the Mount and started to throw down huge punches until the ref stopped the fight.

here are some pics of the event.

Roberto, the Critical Countdown highlights video was awesome. Sakuraba's fight was the most exciting - a pity he lost in such a manner. But all credit to him, he fought real hard. Nice to see the fighters showing great respect to one another. :)

Thanks for sharing Rob!

Oh btw, everyone should download the freaking Wanderlei Silva video. Simply awesome. ;)

I'm just posting to say how damn excited I am for August's Final Conflict 2005 which will feature the final 4 participants in the Middleweight GP go at it the 4 left are : Wanderlei Silva, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, Alistair Overeem and Ricardo Arona. Also the most anticipated fight in MMA history MIKRO "CROCOP' FILIPOVIC vs. FEDOR EMELIANENKO for the PRIDE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. As Cro Nerazzurri has informed me Mirko is not only one of the world's greatest fighters but also a soccer player. With a kick like that its not a suprise :D

Also Friday June 22 Pride Bushido 8. Bushido is for all the lighter fighters, fighters fighting at 155 and 185. Or if you live in Japan or I assume other parts of Asia, it is live June 17 at 4:00 pm local time.

Fight Card

Takanori Gomi (Japan) vs. Jean Silva (Brazil)
Ryo Chonan (Japan) vs. Phil Baroni (USA)
Ikuhisa "The Punk" Minowa (USA) vs. Kimo (Germany)
Masakazu Imanari (Japan) vs. Joachim Hansen (Norway)
Henry "Sentoryu" Miller (USA) vs. James Thompson (England)
Kazuo Misaki (Japan) vs. Daniel Acacio (Brazil)
Denis Kang (Korea) vs. Andreei Semenov (Russia)
Jyutaro Nakao (Japan) vs. Marcus Aurelio (USA)
Tatsuya Kawajiri (Japan) vs. Luis "Buscape" Firmino (Brazil)
Ryuichi Murata (Japan) vs. Kazuki Ookubo(Japan)

Kawajiri vs. Luis "Buscape should be one of the best fights of the night. Also everybody must see Takanori Gomi fight he is incredible.
