Interesting Query Timmy, well look Chute Boxe and Shogun are very smart they will definetley be training for it so I think he'll be able to avoid it having said that alistair is so tall and has such long arms his guillotines are tricky. Having said that I don't see Shogun getting caught in a guillotine unless he's stunned after being hit with a big punch or knee. This one might be better than Arona-Silva in entertainment value i'm very excited for this fight right now i think its a toss up but give it to the next Silva Shogun cause i really like him and love chute boxe.

Man Lebanner is hillarious, at first i was appauled but that guy kind've deserved it.

I'm really beginning to like Takanori Gomi a lot and he's definitely my favorite for the lighter categories.

Yeah, Overeem is really tall so that might be a factor against Shogun. Is the final going to be played on the same night?

Ciao,
Tim

YES TIM YES, thats a big thing about it , it tests the fighters cardio, stamina, heart, desire etc because 2 tough fights in one night man that shits hard.

fights 1 and 2 will be Overeem vs. Shogun and Silva vs. Arona

than the last fight of the night will be the winners squaring off, it will be following the Mirko-Fedor fight.

As For Takanori Gomi he is awesome the fight went to a decision because the guy he fought was a tough chute boxe guy with alot of heart who kept coming back. In september there is going to be a tournament for the lighter fighters it should be spectacular.

Thus, the winner should most probably be the fighter with the easier semi-final match. Silva perhaps?

This is definitely going to be one of the best MMA nights ever. 3 awesome matches.

well it depends, like in 2003 Quinton Jackson beat Chuck Liddel in like 5 min and silva went the distance 15 min with Hidehiko Yoshida and we all know what happened so you never know. I'm going with Silva all the way and I don't see Cardio really being that big of a factor I think the only man who will have trouble is Alistair Overeem he is known for gassing out in fights.

I'm working on a Video for the Fedor vs. Mirko fight. To get people pumped up lets see how it goes, I might just end up posting one from sherdog at the very least.

Ricardo "Zaidriano" Arona just doesn'st like this sickening attitude of Wanderlei. That stupid sonomabi*ch outta learn somethin. He speaks like he's won Salahudin. Nobody beats the great Salahudin. And he's my great idol and his great gradchild is my family friend. Well, Wanderlei, you talk real nice, let's hope your fight mathces up to at least half of what you talk. Arona( yeah, i'm, doing a commercial for Rexona :) ) is gonna rip you apart. I've heard of your secret weapon, but not to worry, my reflexes would be so quick, you'd beg me to finish you off. Wanderlei, my time is now. And when all the dust is cleared, the smoke is settled, the ref will raise my hand, and the sweetest of feelings will be heard... Shhh.... Do you hear that? He said, " HERE'S YOUR WINNER, BY UNANIMOUS DECISION, AND NEEEW CHAMPION, :star: RICARDO "ZAIDRIANO" ARONA" :star:

So Silva has to settle for silver... And gold belongs to meeeeeee
Buhuhuhuhahahahahahahahahaaaaaa :D :D :dielaugh:

I have no idea what half of that meant, If you are trying to say Wanderlei is disrespectful he isn't he is a great man outside the ring and when he talks he doesn't insult his fighters he just tells it straight. Also Wanderlei will KO Arona in the 2nd round.

Arona is probably going to get beaten up so bad and then he will resort to his cheating methods again. And when Wanderlei KOs him, he'll probably cry foul over some unseen headbutt like he did against Rampage.

God i hope Wanderlei KOs him so hard, he wakes up in the hospital.

Tim very impressive that you know Arona's ridiculous claim about the headbutt. Also I'll put any money on Wanderlei beating Arona.

There has been 2 matches Added to PRIDE FINAL CONFLICT 05 on August 28. There is an alternate match which means if one of the final 4 can't fight in the final due to injury or whatever the winner of the alternate fight will take there place.

Alternate Fight : Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Igor Vovchanchyn
Igor was subbed by Alistair and Nakamura TKO'd by Wanderlei. This will be an interesting fight. Igor has amazing KO power and stand up but he isn't that strong on the ground, Nakamura did well with Wanderlei until he was caught with a punch. Nakamura is a Judo expert training under Hidehiko Yoshida. This is tough to call but I'm taking Igor to win it.

also David "Tank" Abbott vs. Hidehiko Yoshida. Tank Abbott is a UFC legend who in my opinion is a joke. He is just a dirty bar room brawler who will either knockout opponents or get subbed very easily. Hidehiko Yoshida is a Judo champion and Japanese fan favourite. I predict Yoshida will win by submission 2 min into RD 1.

Winner vs. Winner
Fedor Emilanenko vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
Tank Abott vs. Hidehiko Yoshida
Igor Vovchanchyn vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura
Wanderlei Silva vs. Ricardo Arona
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Alistair Overeem

This is the card so far, There are usually 8 matches on each pride card so expect 2 more fantastic fights to be added.

This will probably be one of the best Pride nights ever in their history. For a new MMA devotee, i have to admit that the scheduled matches far surpass anything i have seen in other listed fights in previous Pride PPVs.

One more month..

Oh btw, i love your avatar Rob. :D

you are right Tim this is going to be the biggest night in MMA history. This is the best card ever put together. I'm positive 2 more great matches shall be added. Hopefully people like Kharitonov or Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria will be added to the card. Also i like my avatar too Tim :D

I hate Tank Abbott I really hope Yoshida makes him tap. Tank is 9 - 10 - 0, Hidehiko Yoshida is 4-3-1 but 2 losses were to wanderlei silva and he took silva to a decision both times he is a very tough fighter and like I said a judo expert. Tank is just a brawler/asshole.

I can't say this enough August is an amazing month for MMA. The free event UFC is putting on airing on Spike Tv. Than UFC 54 Jeremy Horn vs. Chuck Liddel for the LHW title. Than the Ultimate Fighter season 2 starts and than the biggest one of them all Pride Final Conflitc 05 I CAN'T WAIT!!
 :) :) :star: :boxing:

Tomorrow night 9:00 ET on Spike TV , a free UFC EVENT called Ultimate Fight night. I suggest everybody watches this even if you've never watched MMA before it will be great experience. The UFC has a reality show the ultimate fighter where they put upcoming fighters in competition and on this card the better fighters from that show are Fighting some good veterans and the Main Event features Canadian Ivan Salaverry who is a very good all around fighter with a 10-3 record. He has good stand up and has great Jiu Jitsu. He will be fighting 7 time King of Pancres Nathan Marquadt. Everybody Tune in if you get SPIKE TV.

The UFC's Ultimate fight night live was a decent show but I had higher expectations. They showed off there fighters from there hit reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Josh Koscheck def Pete Spratt by RNC, Koscheck was my least favourite person on the show but his great wrestling skills make him a good fighter and he got an early take down and got spratt's back and submitted him.

Nate Quarry def Pete Sell TKO (strikes), I was expecting more from this fight Nate who was injured on the Ultimate fighter who probably would've won it fought the 5-0 Pete Sell who stopped Phil Baroni with a guillotine at UFC 50. Sell hit quarry with some good shots than quarry landed a right followed by a solid left right to the jaw that sent Sell down than he landed another shot on the ground when the ref stopped it. The Stoppage was a bit premature but I think Quarry just would've landed 3 more punches than the ref would've stopped it anyways.

Stephan Bonnar Def Sam Hogar Unanimous decision. Stephan Bonnar was in the final fight of the Ultimate fighter and had a 3 round war with winner Forrest Griffin. He lost the decision but the fight was even and so good he was awarded the winning contract too. Stephan did great in round one almost get a Kimura than mounting Hogar than they stood up and he landed great shots and some good knees from the Muay Thai Clinch but hogar was saved by the bell. The 2nd round was also dominated by bonnar almost getting a sub. Hogar took control in the 3rd cause Bonnar gassed out but couldn't finish him and Bonnar got the deserved Unanimous Decision.

Chris Leben def Patrick Cote split decision This one was just 3 rounds of them going toe to toe there both great strikers and I thought it should've been a draw.

Mike Swick def Gideon Ray TKO, This was quite impressive from Mike Swick lands 2 solid punches standning than lands 2 bombs on the ground and the ref stopped the fight.

Main Event Ivan Salaverry vs. Nathan Marquadt, I was excited for this fight because both fighters are very skilled but it was cancelled out due to both being excellent on the ground the fans were booing due to the lack of action in this fight and Marquadt got the decision due to a couple good sub attempts and he pushed the action better than Salaverry.
