I'm still in shock. Not the our players didn't deserve it, no, far from that. But these awards and usually voting panels are aggressively steered towards "stars". Whether it's coaches deciding or sports journalists, over the years I have seen recognition and praise bestowed upon the biggest names, not the biggest performers.

Inter specifically has suffered mores due to a complete bias against the team. The perceived "losers" of Italy, mocked all over Europe. Yes, how far we have come in the past 5 years compared to the past 20 or even 40... But even after Mou joined us we were still underdogs. We have big players but no big names... Maicon doesn't sell millions of shirts. Sneijder doesn't have action figures. Milito is not on the cover of PES 2012.

And I never thought I'd see the day when that changed. Even after our treble, I remained in shock. Surely our amazing performance will be forgotten by the same pundits who continued to cheer on Barcelona after we sweeped Catalonia clean. Well today we sweeped some awards clean, and more importantly the biggest award went to the biggest underdog of them all. Yes, I repeat this was the logical and fair outcome, but for the past ten years I have been watching groundless decisions and continued bias in the international football arena, hence my shock.

But today our achievements have overcome that, and we have demanded fairness l and received it.

I am so unbelievable proud, and despite this long worded post, I am furthermore speechless.

I agree that these usually go to superstars, but look, we just showed the football world how to win and win dominantly with hard nosed no ego players and they were rewarded as such. of course they were the best in all categories. to get there they had to beat a top team from Russia, the Premier League Champs, La Liga Champs and tittle defenders, and ze German league Champs. All with no real "superstar" name on them, They deserved it more than anyone out there. Best part was when they announced footballer of the year and he said, "well, he's from Inter." FORZA!

I'm honestly shocked that we made it a clean sweep. Ehsan basically said everything I have to say except for one thing: I said before the awards that these things meant nothing because it's usually BS, and just because our players won it this time around, it doesn't mean that it's not BS. Yes the decision is correct but because in the past, it has been BS, it will remain BS to me.

Congrats to our players though. Absolutely thoroughly deserves it. Even though I think Lucio or Samuel should get the nod ahead of Maicon hehe.

Javier Zanetti,
I was expecting Julio Cesar, Maicon, Sneijder to snap the awards, but I wasn't sure about Milito, even though he scored in every final and Rooney and Messi were outstanding last season.
