Allegri isn't a bad coach. The issue with Allegri is he doesn't have a certain playing style. There's no Allegri ball. He just tightens the defence and counts on individual brilliance to win games. That's how he was winning games both at Milan and Juve. First with Ibra, then with Dybala. But current Juve have neither defensive stability nor individual brilliance in attack. Vlahovic is a very talented forward but he needs feeding from the midfield. He can't create chances on his own. And Juve's midfield remains dysfunctioning.

Give Allegri a well functioning system and he will grind results, like he did when he inherited Conte squad. But if you ask him to build a squad and a playing style from scratch then he will simply fail.
