So i checked Inzaghi's record in Europe.

2017/18: Europa League - Quarter-finals 7-2-3

2018/19: Europa League - Round of 32 3-0-5

2019/20: Europa League - Group stage 2-0-4

2020/21: Champions League - Round of 16 2-4-2

Not great, not terrible.

You have to take into account that in 2018/19 and 2019/20 they fielded reserves or just didn't bother enough as Lotito gave instruction to abandon the competition for the sake of a top 4 challenge.

Basically we need to perform better than Shaktar to qualify for the next round. Last season Real gifted weird points for Gladbach and Shaktar to eliminate us, but I don't expect them doing the same this year.

The order of the matches will have a HUGE impact. If we face Real in the last round, most likely we will face their B team (as they would have already qualified), and could get extra bonus point(s) there. On the other hand, if the 4th round, Real would still in dire need of max 3 points and they will play the strongest.

In the first scenario, there is zero excuse not to proceed.

Usually yes but when you have a very weak team from Pot 4 10 points aren't enough. Just remember what happened to Napoli. Varmin is right. We need 4 points against Shakhtar.
