Unfortunately, your pessimism is so typical to the majority of intersti. I read posts, comments in many Inter communities and the expectations were same everywhere. Therefore the outcome is what we deserve collectively, it's not completely on you ;) Thoughts are able to materialize...

It’s more of realism than pessimism. When expectations become reality, you should be proud of those Interisti. It only means they have clever and logical way of thinking, far from blind delusion and false positivity.

Suppose we change the coach, Guardiola, Klopp, Mou, anyone... whoever floats your boat. Then the CL draw comes up, everyone here will still be thinking of possibility to finish out of playoffs rather than believing in advancement.

Lol yeah right. Mourinho would have topped this group by the 4th match day. As would Guardiola.

Did you get the point though?

Re your statement, Mou finished 2nd in his first year, in a group with Anortosis, Panatinaikos and Werder. In his 2nd season, in the 4th round we were 5 mins away from getting eliminated.

Yes, and football was exactly the same 12 years ago with now..

Mou lost the last 2 group games and still made it, so ironically we were through after 4 games

Doesnt matter, what matters is what happened, not what could have.

You’re just speculating. However, does it really matter in the end? Are you trying to hide the fact that Conte is a massive failure by talking about how pessimistic Inter fans are? Unless you have some sort of belief that expectations may affect the outcome, I don't see any reason why exactly are we talking about this. Poor previous results, strange selection of line up, predictable gameplay, one dimensional tactics.. Any sane person would expect what happened and the fact that it indeed happened is sad and ironic at the same time. This has nothing to do with passion.

Conte failed, I admit that. If he doesn't win scudetto he should go.

However, I should also admit he/Inter was unlucky. That happens whenever there is a negativity around you. You do all what is needed, but somehow nothing gets done the way you want, circumstances turn against you. Just look at it, the team gets struck by covid more than any other, your key player gets fake positive test that makes him unavailable for an important home match, one of your key players never gets out of infirmary, Hakimi assists Benzema, Vidal red card, No VAR in many controversial episodes, players hit woodwork more than any other team, big chance created/misses (Inter is the leader in this). That all happens when everyone hate you, despise you. I don't know how to explain that, it's just something mystical...

Yeah, Spalletti was also unlucky.
So was everyone before him.

But Spalletti was also lucky in other situations.
As was everyone else. Including Conte.

That's why I'm saying, Conte should go if he doesn't manage winning serie A. Failure to do so will mean no improvement from the last season to me, hence should go.

I wanted Spalletti to be fired exactly for not improving in his 2nd season. Had he at least guaranteed the CL spot 2-3 weeks earlier let alone winning any silverware, I wouldn't mind him staying.

Inter is failing always when there is pressure to achieve something.
Even the decisive CL games under Spalletti's two seasons, we were still playing shit but we're lucky against Lazio and Empoli.
Maybe the only exception is the second leg against Jube for the Coppa, when we trashed them 3-0 only to chocke on the penalties later.

First sentence was enough for me. :)

I dont believe in what you’re suggesting. We are Inter and we are bigger than making excuses. The quality of the squad, the project, the highly paid coach, the golden chance given by Real Madrid (lost against Shakhtar, and beat Borussia... wow). All these easily outweigh every excuse you talked about. So I completely disagree with you. It’s not mystical, it’s lack of mentality.
