Mumble rappers aren't the reason why some rappers can't make decent money nowadays and will never be the problem. Every year we get amazing projects out. Mumble rap was just a fad tho, but together with drill, it brought some needed high energy to this music, that is seen in other stuff too (like Jpegmafia)

Just do you and good things will come (if you have a certain level of quality and interesting music to offer). While it is sad that rappers that have been killing it for years like Tragedy Khadafi don't get paid enough, but sometimes these rappers can only fault themselves. There are people like Aesop Rock, Slug and Tech Nine that have been on the scene since the 90s and keep supplying great shit to this day. Same with Roc Marciano, altho his solo career did start later.

Rap music is in great space. While I'd rather see some other acts be in place of Eminem, Kanye and Snoop Dogg, rap is doing good.

If your willing to hustle and preform you ll always make decent money of rapping if your good enough even if the mainstream does not know you....

Also what do you mean with other acts in place of kanye EM and Snoop? Imho only EM is really still active and that also is only every couple of years..
Kanye has done fuck all in a long time and snoop while i love him all his new shit is just very generic and at best decent.
I d also argue that where you see snoop EM and Kanye a guy from another generation might see Kendrick and j cole.

Anyways i generally agree, it s just that the genre got soo wide and diverse so there will be at least one niche of it that you dont like even if your a fan overall..

Anyways as you said so many good artist out there still doing their shit....there literally is something for everybody out there...

That's is why I wish Black Thought, Killer Mike and Kendrick had the status Em, Kanye and Snoop have.

Sure, heads now what's up, but I really wish they got better recognition for their work (even tho they are big in their own right)

I get what you mean but is it not always like this? The marcellos/roberto carloses of this world will always be more celebrated recognized than the Zanettis.....

Also with all of the three mentioned you actually have to pay attention and listen to the songs to realize their greatness, it s also not really music that will play at parties to often so i guess thats also part of why th mainstream misses out.

I would also like to point out that within the rap gae and amongst artist these three have maad respect.

I could make a better party playlist of 50 songs with Killer Mike, Kendrick Lamar and Black Thought than with Em, Kanye and Snoop (who has the most party bops of all 3). A lot of people just don't really listen outside of what is pushed the most.

I honestly doubt you could... yes it might sound better to you and me but the average party would be going off more with snoop kanye and em songs than with the other 3.......
Your probably partly right as in a part of the reason for that is that everybody is familiar with Snoops/kanyes and Ems party songs...

ALso not to sure that Killer mike and Kendrick dont get pushed.... I mean killer mike has been on almost every fucken latenight talk show there is...

Nah, I did a rhyme scheme about being a (hiphop) head from the underground while mentioning the cover where Red does that, also ending a line with a nice double meaning with the use of "Redman"
I'm so proud of that one that I went and write up a whole Rap Genius about it haha

Yeah, listened to Micheal once today during work. It's a real Atlanta type record, I'm kinda sad that single with Big Boi from a few years ago isn't on it, cuz then he would've had both Outkast members on. Mike keeps killing it
