The only reason anybody is paying attention to her is because she comes from rich parents. Entire event is painfully scripted, note the applauding.
Clickbait that will be forgotten within two days and won't achieve anything.

Each time this environmental issues comes up I remember these sacred words from Agent Smith:

I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague

There's so much truth to this, we might be a part of this world and its environmental system but evidently there's a part of us that doesn't belong here, having superior mental capabilities such as memory/intelligence/reasoning is an overkill for this simple world, every single organism that lived on this Earth did not require such phenomena to survive, it only took instinctive or innate behaviors which are inherited and held on the DNA, exactly like a computer which consists of hardware and dedicated software that runs its system smoothly as programmed, but then mankind came and fucked up everything.

Take humans out and Earth will flourish and endure, it's the ultimate evidence that we just don't belong here now. We need the Aliens that sowed us long time ago for whatever reason to come back and reap, few decades late and all they'll come back and find is radiation and abomination.

Complex systems tend to self-balance. Say you introduce an invasive predatory species to an island. That species would kill and fuck en masse as long as there's resource to do so. Once they've depleted it they will promptly dwindle in numbers and balance will be restored. Of course in such a scenario maybe the prey would go extinct but that's beyond the point.

So yeah, I find it very funny when I hear "we are killing the planet" - no we aren't. We are killing ourselves and quite frankly I couldn't care less for humanity as such. We probably deserve a "mass extinction" event just to sober up a little and cut some fat. It's too bad we'll take a lot of other unique lifeforms with us as well, but hey, maybe they don't "deserve" to be living either, if they are wiped out as easily by a bunch of crafty apes.

As for Greta Thunberg. Well, let's forget she's a well off little white girl that's being used as a puppet by some fag. The problem with her is that she's antagonizing the shit out of the world, pitting all kinds of people against climate change as a subject just because they feel attacked. She is throwing shit all over the place and this will never ever fucking work in proving an argument, let alone changing people's minds that it's time to act and making them join your efforts. "How dare you?"... How dare you shit on all the efforts scientists and hundreds of people made before you to establish a civil dialog about climate change. We are getting there, you have to be delusional to think it'll take just a couple of decades to completely ditch fossil fuels and become carbon emission free all of a sudden. Inter and Milan can't build a fucking stadium for over a decade and a half ffs...

At this point I think only Bill Gates knows what he's doing. Elon Musk is living in la la land with his 100% renewable romance. Greta here wants to sue countries (France and Germany of all, lol) and "punish" people for "stealing her childhood"... So Bill Gates, of all people, works on a new nuclear reactor design that works with spent fuel - the only actual working solution to the emissions problem. Dude is actually way smarter than many of the false prophets that take the spotlight lately.

This so much this. Fuck the we re killing the planet statments we re killing of humanity the planet will be fine till one day in about 5 bio years our sun explodes.

On greta i think she has a very good point but i m just to cynical to think it s gonna change anything and i hate all the politicians who sit there listen to her and applaud her fully knowing that it s just a pr stunt. Same goes for every person over 30 who fucking idolizes her wtf is wrong with you guys scientists/Politicians philanthropist have been warning us of this shit for what 40 years now. God forbid we d listen to the actual scientists who know what they are talking about lets listen to a little girl and then act like we never heard this shit before. The fucking hypocrisy of politicians at the UN giving her a frenetic applause is just too much when they been sitting on there asses fully aware of the problem for the last 40 odd years. Again i dont have a problem with her but i feel like she s getting used by the public to have a better conscience cause remember we supported that little girl and did our part and by politicians cause they all take pictures with her and talk the usual talk just to tell their constituents see here i met with the litlle girl for environnements sake.

On the nuclear part your fully right it s funny i just had a discussion with the father of a friend of mine and he was like you know that co2 problem could be solved by now if we did not stop research and investments into nuclear power but public perception and irrationality kept us from doing that. fucking two weeks later i watch bills netflix thing and boom he does it.

Also to gretas supporters i just know that 80% of those tree hugging hippies would oppose anything if they just hear the word nuclear, just like many of them oppose wind turbines cause they ruin the landscape and water power cause it ruins the live in the rivers fucken bunch of hypocrites.

Edit: Also were there not already student protests for the climate after al gores movie came out? And was the reaction of the public not pretty much the same ohh look at the youth shit s gonna change? Fast forward 13 years we re in the exact same spot.

Rant over.

Dude she has Asperger's...

If it wasn't that it would've been ADHD, ADD or autism. Those types of post-millennials all come with their special snowflake conditions.

i remember when i was a kid, climate change was a topic discussed in the news. i even remember a tv-program for kids tackling the issue once. and of course, i also learned of it from the books at school (middle-school).

then, for some reason, around the second half of the 90ies the climate change/global warming debate kind of disappeared from the media. which i've always found very weird, and suspicious.

anyways, i find this video very interesting: it explains in psychological terms why so many people can't be bothered with this issue, and suggests a different approach.

among other things, it explains why guilt-trips just don't work (if anything, if i may add this, they cause the opposite reaction: pr culture in the states has created trump).

so in the end, what greta is doing might even turn out to be counter-productive.

She also looks like a 1930s German propaganda girl

Btw, when will humans stop seeing the world and the universe in an anthropocentric way? When that actually happens we will probably eradicate these "save the planet" cries from people whose main agenda is that someone is profiting from something.

Not many are really concerned about the environment.

pretty much half of the world's population should be concerned about the environment, because their environment is slowly becoming impossible to live in. i'm thinking for example of the greater part of india, northern africa or even southern italy, greece, spain, a great part of south america, mexico, caribbean america, the hottest states of the u.s., some areas in australia, and so on.

climate change used to drive me crazy, because it's a well-known issue but most don't give a fuck. so i have decided i won't care about this anymore. i will just do my part, for the sake of my conscience. i will do as much as it's reasonable to ask from a single person. and that's it.

i don't have children, so i don't have to worry about what the world will have become in 100 years from now.

I think human consciousness, is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware, nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself, we are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self; an accretion of sensory, experience and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everybody is nobody. Maybe the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction, one last midnight - brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal."

Surely this is all for me?! Me. Me me me, I, I'm so fucking important! I'm so fucking important, right?! Fuck you.

Some quotes from True Detective season 1 that go nicely in the environment problems...

Humans prioritize their needs always... Everything else... Yes even the environment comes way later
Doesn't matter if we burn up later, we have a fancy new toy now... To make my life easier no matter the cost

Simple human nature...

Well there are a few of us who really do care but it's the minority apparently

Not having kids is probably the best thing a human can do for the environment other than coming up with a new clean source of energy.

Also what you say is exactly what pisses me off so much about this whole greta movement, we know this shit for years and did nothing and somehow most decided to put there hopes of changing things in a little girl. Or lets say imho most support her cause and celebrate her just to have a piece of mind and the knowledge that they did something.

Putting a kid in this thresher we call life... Almost... well is... A selfish sin
When you realize the reality of it all...
In my case the genetical fallacy that I have... To put the same shit on my kid... A really big sin, to see someone you love to have the pain you don't wish upon your biggest enemy... Never gonna happen

How is autism a "post-millenial" thing or whatever? The point is people with these conditions don't have the self-awareness that the average person has, which is very low at 16 to begin with.

Teenagers tend to be melodramatic to begin with. Asperger people usually don't get some social cues and non-verbal communication in general, but their intelligence is not affected in any way.

Like, if you blink an eye to an asperger person to communicate something, that person will probably get that you have a grain of sand in your eye.

There is no reason to put in a blender autism (true and existing condition), asperger (another true and existing condition) and ADHD (99% ofbthe times crap invented by incapable parents to justify their failure).

So... Greta Thunberg. Discuss.

190919155712-greta-thunberg-testifies-to-congress-large-169.jpg

I've been 16, and you don't want to listen to my advice on global policy making when i was 16.

There's many stupid shit advice when it comes to tackling global warming, not having kids is the biggest one of them all, over population fears and what not
