He needs some matches playing as a starter before we can judge whether he fits in FdB's tactics or not. Occasional substitute appearances when we are chasing a game just can't be a fair reflection of his ability. Sadly, at this point we really can't afford to rest Icardi or Perisic in league matches, and I don't think FdB will play him as AM.

Yes I agree. While we are at it, the same should apply to Ranocchia, Palacio, Nagatomo, Berni, Melo and Biabiany. They all need few matches playing as stater before we can judge whether they fit FDB's tactics or not.

FDB doesn't see them in training every day so he has to play them in official matches to find out...

Replace the names you mentioned with Ansaldi, Gnoukouri, Andreolli, Miangue, Brozovic, Barbosa, Kondogbia and Jovetic included, and the answer would be "Yes, it most definitely should. Not doing so would be idiotic". Maybe not as starters, but giving players a combined 42 minutes of football in 9 matches (as is the case with Jovetic), then going "that didn't work out quite the way we could've hoped, let's give Eder an endless amount of opportunities for the rest of eternity" is very counterproductive.

Also, are you seriously questioning the very concept of match-fitness?!

Far too early to be judging anyone, they've only played a few minutes, whilst others are still lacking match fitness. Reassess at the end of the season.

No, I'm not questioning the concept of match fitness. I'm jut saying trying not to be a hypocrite. Everybody deserves a chance, not just player X or Y...

First, said players already had their chances and blew them in a spectacular fashion. Only one of those who didn't see the field yet is Biabiany and I'm in favor of giving him a chance in EL.

Jovetic, on the other hand, is not only a different quality player that those (and younger than most mentioned, bar Biabiany), he's played for like 30 minutes so far, after 10 games under FDB. And he himself said Jovetic works hard in training.

Nobody, not even the shite of the shite should be let go yet. I dont know if it's just me but i believe everyone should be given a chance and tbh people took it (See Rano in the league, never saw the EL match) so i can only judge him on what i've seen, but people saying we should sell or ditch people based on 2 or 3 matches are fucking retarded no matter if you think they should stay or not

First, thoriq was talking about starting matches, not just playing.
Second, do you really call the few minutes that Palacio or Nagatomo a fair chance?
Berni? Carizzo?

Jovetic deserves better than getting on the field when it's a lost cause, why hasn't de Boer given him sufficient opportunities? When, like today's match, nothing seemed to work in the final third. At least work with the guy and see how he responds, if he doesn't deliver then bury him on the bench.

Jovetic's main problem is that he is not in the EL squad, otherwise he would be getting plenty of minutes. Still want to see him get some minutes as a CF and I've been saying that since the season started.

I hate how he is treated at Inter, after being the big reason how we won against Crotone, without him we wouldn't win 3-0 for sure...and now he could be sold to Jiangsu

:palm:

Pioli should give him a chance!

Wouldn't mind 50m for him from Jiangsu. Add Teixeira to it when we have an non-Eu spot open and :fap:

I don't think we could get more than 10 million for him.

I don't think we can get whatever we wish from Jiangsu. FFP and UEFA are watching and won't allow any fishy business.

Apparently de Boer wanted to sell almost 6 or 7 players, and management basically told him to shove it.

Hoping to see him play some minutes in the derby following Pioli's comments on trying to get the best out him again. It's reassuring to see that someone is willing to give him a shot again, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
