I think Sinisa will continue to be Mancini's right hand for some years, before he tries to out on his own. Once he does this, I'm convinced he'll make it B-I-G.

THE COMEBACK OF GLADIATOR
Sinisa Mihajlovic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic visited Novi Sad today and held the press conference in City Hall. Their host was mayor Maja Gojkovic and the main topic was Sinisa's farewell match.

This spectacle, named "The comeback of gladiator" will be held on 28th of May at "Karadjordje" stadium and will gather the greatest football names of today.

It has been planned to play the match in which the rivals will be FC Internazionale, the team in which Sinisa is assistant coach, and the team named "Miha's friends".

On today's press conference Mihajlovic announced that Vieri and Toti will surely come, maybe Gianini, Balbo and Stoichkov, then Belodedic, Stojkovic, Prosinecki, Boksic, Suker and much more of his ex-teammates. He emphasized that Maldini and Shevcenko wouldn't come because they have been waiting the surgeries, but also few players that would play in "Copa America".

The match will be humanitarian and the income will be divided between Children village in Sremska Kamenica and sportsmen with disabilities.

Talking about tickets for this show, Sinisa Mihajlovic couldn't precise definitely what would be the way for its distribution since Italian agency that organized everything didn't actually defined it. The most possible option is that tickets will be sold at a special place at hotel "Park" in Novi Sad. It should be solved in next few days.

The announciation of Sinisa's farewell match was followed by the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sinisa's parents, Red Star's legends Dragan Dzajic and Vladimir Cvetkovic and also Milorad Kosanovic, the man who brought Sinisa to Novi Sad in 1986.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said about Sinisa: "I learned a lot from Sinisa and there are not many players of his quality in the world. We met when I was still playing for Juventus and then we even quarelled. But, when I came to Inter, I realized that he was great. I had a great wish to come to Serbia and he made it true. He was a great player and he will be the great coach as well".

Dragan Dzajic remembered the time when he first had met Sinisa: "When we were playing the friendly match against Vojvodina on Igman during preparations, I saw a little brushy boy who was shooting from 40m. I was impressed by his shoot, and our goalkeeper Stojanovic hardly defended that. I can confirm that Belodedic and Mihajlovic were the key players for the European champion title win".

Vladimir Cvetkovic said about engagement of Sinisa: "He was very expensive, but the million of Deutsch mark spent on them in that time was the right move. Sinisa was the diamond on our crown and he is the best and the most human left leg in the world…"

About Sinisa also spoke Miroslav Gavrilovic, journalist who has been writing about Sinisa's career from the first match for Vojvodina. He also prepared the book "The God's left leg" that is Sinisa's biography and will be the present for every ticket buyer.

Sections from the book were read by the famous Serbian actor Dragan Nikolic.

After the press conference, Sinisa and Zlatan left to Milan, where Sinisa was about to receive the prize "Gentleman".

Thanks a Ton, Alex, so we should play Mancini behind Ibra and Crespo?
Yes,you are right,we will be unstopable :) I heard that Mancini run a lot in this game and he wasn't very happy when he was substituted in 65 min.

Miha is perhaps the best set piece taker in the history, of course. But for me, it's a shame that his image to me was tarnished by some ridiculous performance he put for us as a player even though it's understandable since he was at the end of his career.

Still, I'd always remember him for scoring a hattrick from a freekick against...Sampdoria if I'm not wrong. That was out of this world.

I also think Sinisa Mihajlovic is the best free kick taker in the history. The statistics don't lie and his average of 75% goals from set pieces ratio is a good indication of his excellent qualities. When you consider that other free kick specialist, such as David Beckham, have an average of around 35% goals scored from set pieces, then Mihajolovic's average really shines out.
Yes you are right,he scored a hat-trick of free-kicks in a league victory over Sampdoria in 1998/99.(only player who has done that)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E07WMOB7vIo
(The first 3 goals are from that game,Lazio - Sampdoria 5 - 3).

Incredibly for a sweeper, the temperamental Sinisa Mihajlovic holds the Serie A record for goals scored from free-kicks and his left foot is generally regarded as one of the most lethal weapons in world football better than great Platini,Bagio,Zola,Pirlo,Del Piero,Pirlo,.....

I think that overall preformance of Mihajlovic for Inter was good, especially if you remeber to 2 goals against roma in the league http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sDMKIEuMqI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZiGxqdCNik and the winer in the cup final against roma again.Yes he had 3 or 4 bad games where he let few goals,in the part of the season when our strikers couldn't score for very long time, and most of the goals for Inter were scored from defence, but at the second part of the season with materazzi they were one of the best defence in the league with at least concided goals.BTW if you look his statistics for Inter in those 2 seasons you will see that for the number of games that he played, his contribution is ok

04-05 Inter Milan 6 Goals, 20 Games 4 Games (Champions League)
05-06 Inter Milan 1 Goals, 5 Games 3 Games (Champions League)
06-07 (Champions League + Cup.. Winners Cup + UEFA Cup)

I personally think that 75% stats is bullshit. Is it trying to say that for 4 free-kicks Miha took, he scored 3 of them? Nah, I bet my left balls that's mistaken.

I'm not taking anything away for Miha but that's impossible. It's like trying to say you achieve a 75% annual return in investment over 2 decades. Even Warren Buffet couldn't do that. (Or did he? :D)

you thought he was horrible with us?

I thoguht Miha was great with us under the circumstances, brought such class and experience add that with all those assists, he was our Figo in defence.

7 goals and 11 assists in 2 seasons, what's so good about that? Considering the defensive liability that he was, it was not worth it.

We sold Adani because of him and Gamarra, who was superb as a sub the season before, was reduced to playing just 6 matches in 04/05 before being let go of.

He's doing a great job as an assistant coach though.
