If it were an argument, I'd leave it and respect it. There is some validity to that.

But it's a fixation and a point with a hidden agenda that I don't want to subscribe to, nor would want to see it lurk in as an infestation that others repeat.

I don't see any Liverpool fans claiming that their last CL finalist run was a fluke just because they somehow avoided all the big names till the final.

And it's crazy how the biggest derby in Europe is somehow insignificant, a team that was Italian champion that beat the team that had sealed the next one in extraordinary fashion, or the champions of Portugal + the team that won it that given season. As if the Portuguese league is England tier 2 level...

But somehow beating CSKA Moscow in the quarters of 2010 gets left behind. Not that I don't rate them, but someone else wouldn't but doesn't seem to fall into the "trap" of admitting he's wrong.
Funny how you mention CSKA because last time we did this I was the one who brought up the CSKA point. We beat the champions of Russia, Germany, Spain, and recent champions of England if you recall! That was one of my points about the CL then in 2010, we had to crush three league winners to get to the top, including two of the best leagues league winners and one who had recently won the other best league.

It's possible, even probable we've won the Scudetto by the time Udinese-Inter kicks off.
It's possible, but I kinda hope not because I want the team to take the game 100% seriously and demolish Udinese. That's 3 gamedays away, so I don't believe we will already win the league by then. Especially because we will also play Napoli before that and we might not win that one.

Tbh there's a good chance you'll see a semi reserves team but it'll be hungry people keen to prove themselves. Frattesi, Bisseck etc

Oh sorry, I got it wrong. Didn't realize Udinese is BEFORE Cagliari. So yeah, it's not even possible to mathematically secure the title before Udinese. We need 15p now so even if Milan lost their next two games, we'd still need 9p and then it's Udinese weekend for us already.

We've won it anyway. Only 10 more games and we have 16 points to spare. We might even have a bigger point difference when the season ends.

Name me another time that happened with a CL winner or finalist and there you have your exception, not last season's run...

Why do we want to win the Scudetto in front of milan though? That would make them think they're somewhat important.
I want us to need 2 points to clinch Scudetto in the derby, lose 3-0 in the first half and beat them 3-4 with two 90+ minute goals.

Then they can choose where they want to build their stadium because this one will forever haunt this generation

to be honest, I havent once argued that Inter's 2010 CL run wasnt exceptionally hard. It was an amazing run, a real throw back to the league winners only CL era. And we fully deserved to win all those games.

It doesnt change the fact that last year we had a lot of luck in the draw as well. Like I said, its the most skewed CL of the last 5 that I looked at. I'm debating as to whether tonight I'll do 5 more. Be interested to see, actually. Historic odds gets harder to find, though, I cant find historic odds for the 2009-2010 CL season.

If we're 2 pts away from the Scudetto at that point, I'd play a full primavera team and rest the first team for the CL quarter a few days later. That will show them how insignificant they are.

There's no way I'd compare this Inter to Mancini's Inter even if we get eliminated today. I had no faith in Mancini's Inter and the gameplay was garbage. We were winning due to overpowering everyone in Italy with our individuals. The way we were getting constantly eliminated early in the CL every year was embarrassing. This Inter is something else, and the season is already a success to me no matter what happens next.

I want to see their sad faces even on TV 🤣
what would be better, them losing the match and handing us the scudetto, or them having to do a guard of honour before the game... choices choices!

Losing it on the pitch.

That tunnel thing is stupid.

Was just thinking how people tend to exaggerate how bad his first season here was. It especially stung because we had a typical inter collapse in the winter/ spring and had to watch our mediocre ass cousins lift the trophy and make complete jackasses of themselves. But people need to remember just how insane that previous summer was too.

Financial collapse, Conte straight up abandoning us. Hakimi being sold. Lukaku asking for a transfer at the last minute when it was our plan to keep him (thank you for that Rom btw), Eriksen suffering a traumatic event that would render him ineligible to play for us. It was a wild time.

Inzaghi came into an unbelievably difficult situation with the expectations of a team that had just won the title. And we actually played some amazing football at times. Dzeko, Hakan, and Dumfries ended up being very solid replacements given our financial limitations. We couldn’t maintain the mental focus for the entire season and that sucks, but there were signs we were heading in the right direction.

Then in the 2nd season, yeah, that many losses in the campionato is unacceptable, regardless of the ongoing behind the scene stuff like contract situations in the balance. People were being rightfully critical of his management of the team but I give Zhang/ Marotta a lot of credit for letting him ride the season out (and also the fact we had to pay him but w/e). We all know Moratti would have torched him, which would have obviously been the wrong decision.

If Conte had been at the helm in 21-22 we probably would have won the scudetto, sure, but we also wouldn’t be hitting the heights we are now.

Very well said. Conte has his strengths but I don't see him being a coach who can reach top levels everywhere ie. be a factor wherever the team plays. Not in modern times of football anymore. Or he has to change to achieve that.

At least we finally got out of the CL groups with a worse squad, Inzaghi will always get props for that. And now, it took 3 seasons, but this is now his Inter and he is showing everybody he can do this. Europe is watching us.

It could be luck or destiny, but I'm happy that everything went this way. Inzaghi inherited solid group by Conte, and he was able to build over it. I'm sorry about Eriksen, because I think he would have been very good in Inzaghi's football.

Is there anyone that thinks Porto was just lucky in 2004? I think that was exceptional, and so was Inzaghi's CL run last year.
Cause they played against a in rebuilding period of ManU, Lyon and Deportivo La Coruña, also Monaco in Final (I needed to check who they played, but I briefly remember it wasn't your typical teams.)
