Of course not.
five creative midfielders are too many though. those five should be enough to generate more creative movement and action on ball. but yeah the team missed Brozovic whom can act as a metronome in attack and defense.

Lets be honest, Samardzic would be getting less playing time than Asllani... Inzaghi wants the players to play in a certain way, thats why Vidal said they are all like robots, which is true.
Nah, he'd definitely be playing.

Frattesi minutes for sure by this stage, but maybe not a start.

Damn this thread went nuclear really quick.

I’m not an Inzaghi apologist but y’all need to chill. We were bound to have a game like this sooner or later. Although we really should have grabbed a point. The loss was because of a typical inter blackout.. what we can’t do now is spiral and accumulate losses early in the season like we did last year. It got away from us before we knew what happened.

This year is different because last season Napoli was flying and no one could keep up. This year we clearly have the best side top to bottom. Less competition, but we have to set the pace ahead of Juve and Milan.

Simone needs to get the rotation sorted because there are too many new players and only Thuram has managed to successfully integrate into the coach’s 11. Our starters shouldn’t look this tired already but that’s another discussion.. we need more flexibility and modularity in our setup. We’re desperately light in attack so Lautaro and Thuram will have to play more than they probably should, but we need to seek alternative solutions. Advancing Mkhitaryan, do something with Frattesi or Klassen further up the pitch, whatever; we need a different look. And our new players need to find their way into the squad dynamic.

When I think of robotic players - I think of Vidal's best pal 'Conte'. I still have nightmares on how he treated Eriksen.
Anyhow, in my view Inzaghi gives his team alot of attacking freedom, which in turn sometimes makes them clueless.

You gotta love fif from being one of the best teams in europe to being a shit side without depth within 2 games....

While we were not great yesterday if we replay that game we win it 9 out of 10 times...
We created a lot where we were a inch short of scoring which i put down to luck...

That’s how inconsistent we are, one game we play like we can beat anyone the following we play like a mid table to relegation battle team… nothing new under the sun, it’s in our DNA it seems.

Our problem is mentally as well as we are overly reliant on physical form. There is a reason we lost almost 1/3 of all serie a games last season.

We lack one more of the sort of players that can be difference when we aren’t in form, currently we are over reliant on Martinez and again this means we run him exhausted.

We are not that bad. Still first and created a lot of chances. People are depressed out after first loss, come on.

Let's stop saying Hakan and Asllani are DMs. It's like saying Lautaro is a winger or that Darmian is a goalkeeper.

It s called a season... We just had one of our best starts to serie a we ve ever had if thats inconsistency then i gladly take it....
We had such games in our fucken treble season and i d argue that every team has those strechs with a few exceptions where one team just has a monster season (napoli last season)

Can we wait till we clearly see a trend before we start with this shit..

Also everyody who calls for inzaghis head please kindly go get fucked

I don’t know if I’ve missed this discussion, but can people figure out the rationale around the Bastoni - De Vrij sub?

Taking one of our best football players out and moving Acerbi at LCB seems so dumb

Mhh somehow i only remember acerbi being up front with the strikers...
Think inzaghi wanted another target for high bals up front

If it was just one game, it wasn’t it was 3, we where lucky it was not just one point in those 3 games because it was more in line with the actual performance or rather the lack of it.

Also I don’t think anyone called for Inzaghi’s head.

We were lucky we didn't lose to Real Sociedad, but I don't see how we were lucky to beat Empoli. Did Empoli even threaten our goal once in that game? We weren't at our best against Empoli but reading the forum you would think Empoli was dominating us and missing chances left and right. We dominated them, created a few chances (less than usual) and scored a world class goal. Empoli defended deep and pretty much did not create a single chance. It wasn't our best performance but I don't see much of an argument for Empoli showing enough that match to deserve a point.

So by your logic, our whole scudetto season 2021 was based on pure luck cause if I remember correctly most of our wins that season were like against Empoli.

We didn't play flashy, but even against Sassuolo we could have won, if we scored 1 or 2 of our other chances created in the first half. We were too wasteful, and we were punished for that.

This. We play this Sassuolo match 10 times, we probably win AT LEAST half of them, draw few, lose even fewer. For some people result speaks everything (Sassuolo) until it doesn't fit to the narrative (Sociedad, Empoli).

Like @Adriano@10 mentioned, let's wait for some trend, 15 games or something, 10-15 games in the league before drawing any conclusions. I doubt this season will be won with 90p like Napoli did year ago (unless it's us doing it with a great spring).

Wait, there's people who thought our bench is good???

We have Frattesi and a few handymen at the back (Darmian, Carlos Augusto + De Vrij/Acerbi)

Anything else is below standards...

The moment either forward isn't playing, we're screwed.
The moment Hakan is out physically or mentally, we're screwed.
The moment Dimarco and/or Barella are out, we're screwed.
Agree for the most part, the "subs" for the front line are utter crap. Unfortunately Asllani isn't any good or he wasn't developed properly. As for Dimarco and Barella if they are off the boil, it appears now more frequently, Augusto, may grow so there's hope there. Barella's replacement is Frattesi who may turn out ok. It's the attack.
Inter sold their youth and went with old stop gap measures, albeit due to the financial situation, and it may bite Inter in the ass big time. Lautaro is streaky, Thuram is a more likable Lukaku /Dzeko but their replacements are a blind energizer bunny and the other an egomaniac dimwit in my estimation. it maybe, another long frustrating campaign.

The idea we win more then half when we statistically have not won half the games against them in serie A, seem somewhat rather optimistic.

The statistics is W:47.6% - D:9.5% - L:42.9%

At GM they now beat us more then we beat them. W:36,4%-D:18.2%-L:45.5%

We have a poor statistic against them, especially at GM, I’m not shocked they beat us, as it’s right after the book when we are not in good form and they go into a game with confidence.

We are shit against Spanish teams so it’s really no surprise, we where closer too losing especially in spain.

Also the chance we had was more like half chances from driven, we had players in the past that was leathal on those, but currently isn’t what we are best at scoring on, as also clearly demonstrated in this match.

It is clear that our best or first 11 players are not motivated when playing against lower ranking clubs. Solution is that he start with our reserve players. I guess they will be motivated. They will fight and play their best, just to try and get in starting 11 in other games. Vice versa, players who has secure position than will start to think that their status is in danger. I mean, you learn this in first year in Faculty of sport. That is psihological approach. But, who I am to teach Inzaghi. He earn 5M per year. With this team, he MUST win Scudeto. No excusses!
