Balotelli for me. He may not get the most playing time but when he's on the pitch, he should take it. He's already created a few assists last season and during the pre-season. His FK against Roma in the SuperCoppa look dangerous as well.

There isn't a one set piece taker in a team, unless he is equally good in both feet, which I've never seen yet. Even the players who are considered to be able to use both feets, that is magnified when it goes to Set Pieces, as it needs a lot more precision than simple pass, or even shot at times. Ricky can use both feets, but I've never seen him make a free-kick using left foot.

So unless, the person is equally good with both feet, or other players are a lot worse than him, and it is better for him to do the other side of the field too(Pirlo), we see more than person doing kicks in a team.

We would have to divide the free-kick takers, as left foot takers, and right foot. Left foot, on the right side, and right foot on the left side.

On top of that, we can also have a set of kick takers, to shoot on goal, and to cross the ball for a header. If Adriano can easily do a kick to shot, he rather won't be taking a cross.

I know, I'm paying too much attention to details , as FR described me once, but that's just the way I am. Hate me or love me.

Haven’t seen enough of RQ to name him as a candidate. But IF Figo is on the pitch which hopefully will be a rare event from now on then I believe he should be taking those especially when the free kick given is in centre or left side of the penalty box.

without a dought, mijailovic was the best free kick taker in serie a, and at his time in the world. Recoba's shot of free kicks are better, but figo can make more out of situations like his perfect crosses.

From what you are saying, the quality of our free kick takers are degrading. We used to have one guy in the team who could take all of corners, indirect free kicks, or direct free kicks, now we even have to debate which player shold take which type of free kicks.

Yep. Adriano has massive power in his shot, but he can also put a curl to the ball. The problem is those freekicks right in front of the penalty area. They are too close to the goal for Adriano. Unless he tries to shoot the ball with huge power straigth to that side of goal where the goalie waits and not the free side.
