According to Pedulla, there's only Milan for Tonali. Inter informed they're out of the race as Antonio Conte prefers other players and it doesn't have to do with the sales.

Others sources claim Conte didn't reject him in favor of other potential signings and we are just keeping the deal on hold until we offload some ballast

Another shit transfer thread with everybody excited about a signing that never happens. How many fucking times have I seen this shit happen in this Suning era, so fucking frustrating and a fucking disgrace. You can bet we won’t get the Vidal deal done as well, it seems it’s the style of this management to just not close deals when eyes are on them. Even the Giroud deal that fell through was the exact same thing! And I don’t give two fucks about the players I just mentioned, but this pattern of broken deals is one of the most infuriating things I’ve ever witnessed. It’s always this stupid long pause of nothingness and then we don’t do shit and some club we don’t like comes out of nowhere and pulls the trigger with real purpose and without hesitation. Why should anyone want to do business with us if we’re just all talk but no action, fucking idiots the lot of them.

You know who the real culprit for this deal falling through is though? Cafe Cordoba and his jinxing ass! you better be the one to lock this thread up, you fucked this shit up big time! Mr the deal is already done and we’re just waiting for the window to open before we announce it

Seriously though, fuck this management and their flip flopping. Not that Tonali has anything to do with this, but if we don’t win the Scudetto next season I want Conte and his fucking stench scrubbed off this team for good. If we lose any match, I will burn him harder than ever before. Public enemy number one, fucking toupee head!

Jesus christ you sound like a10 year old whiny spoiled bitch.

This would make sense since I don’t see why we wouldn’t just match Milan’s offer and let the player decide.

I think it's pretty clear. Conte learned that we were planning to buy Tonali and tears started streaming down his face because Sandro Tonali (and this is true) happens to not be Arturo Vidal. He demanded a change in strategy i.e. buy him exactly and only what he wants, like a spoiled and ultra picky child, and a change in strategy is what we did.

I have seen reports speculating that we're waiting to sell before we buy or some other bullshit. Firstly, why is the need to sell only now becoming a consideration? Did we not need to sell when we had the Tonali deal all but completed a month ago? It's not as if this necessity to sell came out of nowhere. Our situation has remained the same since then, so this idea that the Tonali deal rests upon our requirement to suddenly "make space" for him is fucking retarded. In fact, we just released Borja, so if anything, we have made space! So why the fuck aren't we buying Tonali?

I don't think there is even any question really. I mean, this is literally how it happened:

PRE-meeting transfer situation: Tonali deal at 99% merely awaiting confirmation, plus Kumbulla ready to go forward
POST-meeting situation: Tonali and Kumbulla deals on hold indefinitely, OFF for all effects and purposes. New targets Vidal and Kolarov

It's fucking plain as day and the evidence is glaringly, stupidly clear.

Like I said before, I don't even like Tonali half as much as most here but this is just another Nainggolan / Zaniolo deal all over again, but much worse this time. At the request of a stubborn coach, we gave up on a long-term investment in order to chase a very costly, short-term project, hoping for immediate rewards. Nainggolan, that "immediate reward" player, bombed spectacularly and is now an expensive anchor who we are literally paying other people to take off our hands, while Zaniolo, pre-COVID, was supposedly valued upwards of €70m. This has all the markings to play out in exactly the same way.

Anyway, Milan will supposedly wrap this deal up in 48 hours. Let's see how that goes eh.

Well not exactly in the same fashion given the numbers but yeah, this is SUPER SUPER short-sighted bullshit. Difference to Nainggolan Zaniolo is that in this case Tonali will cost more than Vidal will. I don't see us paying more than nominal fee to get Vidal, if he can't get himself free. Nainggolan was indeed a fucking BOMB of epic proportions.

Do you mean Conte? Because he fits the description perfectly. Look at the tantrum he throws when something differs slightly from what he wishes.

This will only be somewhat redeemable if we buy top midfielder, and I don't mean vidal. I'm talking kante, alcantara type of fucker.

I haven't seen a single reliable source or any substantive rumour regarding either of these players.

The idea that we'd like to buy them is nothing but media speculation.

I totally agree with Universe. Let's not play dumb with this.

Fabrizio Romano on August 20th: "Inter's priority is to close the deal for Tonali"

Fabrizio Romano on August 28th: "Inter has other priorities than Tonali now"
https://www.calciomercato.com/news/vidal-a-costo-zero-e-tonali-bloccato-per-mesi-inter-ecco-cosa-st-35995

The only thing that happened between these two dates was the meeting between Conte and the management.

We dont have any rumors yet. Lets just wait and see before we start the riot. I want to see where this road of rejecting tonali is leading. If its only to vidal then we have a problem.

I want Tonali, but from a completely objective point of view, there are always talents out there. I would even say someone like Ndombele is a much bigger talent (not saying we should get him but just in terms of ability). It has to make sense for all parties. If he wants to join the club he supported as a boy, sure go ahead. But he will likely go there with ridiculous expectations that don't respect his current level. The fans will turn on him quick if he doesn't perform because this is basically their whole budget. Under Conte he wouldn't be guaranteed as much time, but he could work with a better coach and integrate himself gradually. I think it's up to the player.

We have JMario and 9golan coming from loan

They were always coming back from loan though..?

Marotta agreed terms with the player and found an agreement in principle with Cellino, but then he was like, "oh shit! I totally forgot we have all these midfielders coming back from loan! Hold up while I sort that out." Or maybe we agreed to redeem Sensi and then Marotta realised "shit! I just spent my last €20m on Sensi! Hey Cellino, wait up for me while I put some cash together."

Like Drago said, the only thing that has changed or has happened since then is our meeting with Conte. That is literally the only variable. What else could it be?

Very annoying that (if) Inter have given up their pursuit for Tonali. I have a feeling this kid will develop into a great midfielder in the future. I hope Inter's change of mind means that we are getting a top midfielder, someone like Kante, so that we can go after the Scudetto this season.

This also ends my thread opening streak over here, so Inter better make it good.

The only positive thing is that now looks like we kinda sort it out on media things,
aside for vidal whom everybody and their grandma know, we haven't feed the media with any info,
are we waiting for sales? or is there other high profile target? no one know, not di marzio, not pedulla, every report seems conflicting
for once i actually like the silence

Probably there were preliminary agreements with clubs for JM which cancelled in the last moment. I don't know, just speculating. Though I agree with you guys, probably priorities have changed.

well, you guys are ignoring one factor. Kumbulla & Tonali would cost about 70 mln euro for transfer fees while Kolarov costs reportedly 1.5 mln euro and we are chasing Vidal, because there are chances to get him for free like with Alexis. Kolarov would earn slightly more than Tonali (2.5 to 3) while Vidal would get a lot, but there is tax law which helps. In my opinion it means that we are broke or there's another player we want (maybe Kante, maybe someone else, tbh rumors about Kante come from bad sources).
I would wait with rating this mercato until it is closed. If getting Kolarov & Vidal = getting rid of Candreva & Valero and they are their counterparts, it's fine for me. If they are only targets and nothing more, I would be dissapointed.
