I like how he just doesn't give a fuck. He probably earned more during that run-up than the rest of his team all week.

Epic.

Eto'o alone would place us at least 3 spots higher in the league. 32 or not. He still has it.

Why would age be a problem for our management, who believed a 36 year old Rocchi was gonna save us.

Eto'o will save our ass just like he did in 2011.

He is just that fucking awesome.

Love to see Eto'o back if just for the impact it would have on team moral, sadly it seems impossible

Still unbelievable that an absolute world-class champion like him only stayed with us for such a short time.. why the special strikers like him, Ronaldo have to leave so quick. I always loved that Inter had some sort of powerful force up front.. gave us presence and recognizition. Yeah, we are Inter, that club who has the BEST FUCKING STRIKER IN THE WORLD playing for us. And with the defensive unorganized football we play, forwards like that can be invaluable. See Milito injury.

Sammy was an absolute star on and off the pitch, warm champion who always smiled and gave his best for this shirt. Everyone loved him, he could have been a leadying symbol of Inter for years to come, despite his age.

Then our foul management pushes him out for money, which was squandered on bullshit. Fuck them man.. Why did things have to work out this way? Eto'o could've had such a bigger legacy with us.. but our foolish management ruined it once again. Why are we always bent on disposing of our best or most talented players? For chump change money which will do jack shit. Seriously, fuck the management.

He had insane wages but boy he earned them...

I think if we got rid of Sneijder in the summer of 2011 and bought Palacio we'd have had one hell of a team under Gasperini because that was his plan. But meh it's easy to talk now...

The reaction if we had sold a fully fit Sneijder on here would be horrible.

Watching some Eto'o highlights from his Inter days in the wake of his possible sale and it made me think really hard about the proportions of our failure for the last three years.

When we got Eto'o I wasn't especially delighted and didn't think that he was that huge in our treble year comparing to some other players. I've always known he was a world class player but just wasn't a huge fan of his and took having people like him in our team for granted sometimes. Which makes me a complete idiot but I've learnt to appreciate Eto'o as an amazing player he is.

So, do you people have similiar moments where you just can't believe what has happend with this club in terms of talent loss(let's focus on that alone without mentioning our piss poor attempts to replace some)? Life goes on, there is a new season ahead of us to be played and most of the time people don't really have time to really reflect on stuff that happend.

But I sometimes believe that the last three years at Inter is something seriously unprecedented when it comes to top football clubs. We had people discussing is Eto'o good enough to replace Ibra and if Motta is good enough to take our midfield to the next level(etc...etc...) and now we all know what kind of players Inter usually target/buy.

I can't say that people became spoiled, especially anyone supporting Inter since at least early 00s and the only conclusion I can make is that the last three years have been simply shocking.

Yeah, after watching that video, it brought some nice memories of what it was back then. It's been a big failure since the drop in expenditure this club can bear, has been shockingly drastic. The drop have came as a surprise to the management, there is no other way explaining all this. And that is a massive failure by the management. First giving those big contracts, then realizing we can't pay them anymore and then selling all the best players.

But memories are nice and can't be taken away. :D

I miss Eto, but how we handled him was perfect. In the 2 years he came for free, helped us win the treble and CL football the year after, became a legend and left the club with dignity.
In my eyes the best African that has ever played in our jersey
