italy isn't 6/5 nations material. they can even manage to win when on a good day if the opponent is in their worst day, just like in football the worst team of the table can win against the first in the table. definitely not good enough for this tournament.

Another head injury

Their former scrum coach was very technical. He taught me a lot of neat things when I met him a few years back (he's Italian so I knew a guy who knows him), not sure why he decided to part with Scotland but he's definitely got to be missed now.

Would people object to an 8 nations expansion. I was young when italy was added and remember conversations about 5-10 years ago about argentina being added but playing in spain

I don't think many would object to it. They just haven't expanded yet due to politics.

Tier 2 nations in general always get the shaft.
