Cassano is not in the announced squad. I can understand the temptation to play him as he is suspended in Serie A, but I agree with Strama - Cassano looked tired, and this game is not worth risking an injury.

Great squad selection by Strama, he plans to give quite a few youngsters a start. Love the midfield in the squad - Walter Gargano, 24 Marco Benassi, 28 Simone Pasa, 46 Yago Del Piero, 52 Andrea Romanò.

We will probably lose this one, but it will be great to see how the kids do.

I like that line up. Though I would prefer to give Juan some rest, considering his fitness issues. And perhaps Jonathan over Zanetti.

Anyone here know what kind of players Donkor and Bandini are, and are they any good?

i will let this game played by youngsters, sure this on is important.. coz we can give the youngsters huge experience in professional and european matches. Strama should work his ass off so our youngsters can look like a hero there...

but we have so many injuries... why risk the healthies when the result is not that important

It's as clear as blue sky that EL is not important to Stramaccioni. I don't remember any EL game to which he has called a full first team squad (he could have, I just don't remember any case). We've got through to the group so only thing left there is to either win the group or be second. It's not in Strama's preferences to win the group by playing first teamers because that could give us disadvantage in Serie A games. We haven't managed to win in the last two games in Serie A and Strama wants back to winning ways so he rests most of the first team.

It's a good call since the championship is more important at this moment.
