Because special/iconic has to matter, it's not just a beautiful goal or an important one. It's one that leaves a mark.
Recoba's debut goals are iconic because he overshadowed Ronaldo's debut. Not because we never seen such goals before or after.
Recoba's goal vs Sampdoria is iconic because of the way the season went and how the game was going, with the fans' explosion.

Samuel's goal vs Siena came in a game where we had a lot of absences and in a match that was a rodeo where we ended up even trailing. You look back in that incredible season, and that goal probably belongs in one of the top 5 moments.
Vecino's goal vs Tottenham was obviously much worse than Icardi's strike in terms of execution but it was a repeat of the goal that sent us to the CL after so many years. And it gave us the first CL victory since forever.
Pandev's FK came in a derby where everything was going south, we were playing with 9 men and once again, lots of absences since Eto'o was missing during that time for the African Cup. That goal also cemented that Milan became our bitch during that season.

Lukaku does not really have such moments. The last one you mention probably could have been one, if only it weren't for covid. But again, it's not as if that sealed anything. It was again a more "me me me" moment rather than something to remember for the team. If I had to pick a goal to remember from that one, I'd pick the 2nd with the Eriksen-Perisic-Lautaro combination, which is ironic since that trio were the catalyst to the Scudetto since January.

You mentioned a Penalty Kick and two goals in a must win game, sure, but there were still 15 minutes left, we conceded another and could have even drawn if there wasn't VAR  I mean, no offense, but that's hardly something iconic to show anyone's to children 20 years from now as one special moment at this club.

So yeah, you really have to force your way into finding something where a great, special moment he's a part of. On the other hand, you name bad shit happening and he's at the top with multiple inductions. He lacks the "it" factor, under any context. Pretty much no clutch moments apart from penalty kicks.

What goals of Lukaku will a fan say proudly "I was there" when it was scored? Again, I say that covid screwed him of that Milan goal but if I had to pick a goal against Milan that season it's hands down Eriksen's where it's an "I wish I was there" moment.

It leaves a mark.

So for you Samuel's goal vs. Siena in a game in the middle of the season left a mark? When we were 1st in the table, earned four Scudettos in a row and Siena was last in the table. In a random league game at that moment.

Vecino's goal vs. Tottenham in the first group game of the CL left a mark. But Lukaku's winning goal at the end of a CL away game in the round of the last 16 didn't leave one. And his goals against Mönchengladbach in a crucial CL game also didn't because there was so much playing time left. But the goal of one of our biggest transfer flops in the last decade in a Serie A game against Juventus in the 7th minute of a game that ended 1:1 is iconic (what a "clutch moment"). But against the same team a penalty in the 95th minute in an away game in the Coppa semi final isn't (btw: we just got a forward you rate high but missed almost 60 % of the penalties he took in his career).

The goal against Milan I mentioned was not "iconic" because of Covid ... And it's not as if that sealed anything because we were up with 2:0 ... Like Ronaldo's goal vs. Lazio? But I guess this goal is iconic because Ronaldo scored it.

You wobble around so much.

And btw: When Pandev scored his free kick we were 10 men on the pitch.

Man, you're completely missing the point...

You can keep those fond Lukaku memories of yours, me and the rest of the world will keep what actually was powerful and significant enough to be worthy of remembrance in the near and far future.

To be fair that Samuel goal was iconic in the treble season

I'm trying to understand. Because I really doubt anybody will remember Vecino's goal against Tottenham, Nainggolan's against Juventus or Samuel's against Siena and I'm trying to find out what's the big difference between the goals I mentioned ... But for sure Lukaku will be remembered for scoring 24 goals in our first Scudetto campaign in ages.

I consider it as kinda embarrassing that we had to win that way against the last in the table (in a game in the middle of the season). There were far, far more iconic goals in this season: Milito's title goals, Sneijder vs. Kiev, Cambiasso and Eto'o vs. Chelsea ...

Again, you're all over the place here and missing the point.

I'm talking about A SPECIAL MOMENT, a SINGLE special moment, something that sparked the crowd, something that leaves a mark, something that gets discussed for decades. There's no such moment for Lukaku! There are only two such negative moments (plus Shakhtar) in fact! There's no other player who has these in reverse. There's been only Gresko for that fucked up clearance in 05/05/02 but 3 of them?

You ask why Radja's goal? Because how many wonder strikes have we seen in a derby vs the gobbi in the last 25 years?

Maicon, Seedorf x2, Radja... And that's about it. Then you have the special moments like Sanchez scoring the winner, Toldo getting the equalizer... And you're talking about a freaking penalty kick?

Versus Milan there's been so many games in the last 20 years where the result was settled at the final minutes.

You're arguing that Samuel's goal is not iconic? For real now? And you're talking about a tap in vs Gladbach instead?

I mean okay if that's gonna be one of the goals that you're going to recall about feeling great about... I guess you'll also need to forget the game that followed to avoid diminishing their value. Why don't you also rate Dzeko's goal vs Shakhtar as iconic then?

I absolutely understand what you mean. But first of all I think this "single special moment" is complete nonsense. It's just like browha said: Great goalscorers and scorers of great goals are not necessarily the same thing.

And then I think you just bend the criterias for a special/iconic goal/moment like you want - just to proof your point. Like I would remember Lukaku's goals against Porto or Gladbach. But I think far longer than some of the goals you mentioned. Because they were important at the moment they were scored.

Because special/iconic has to matter, it's not just a beautiful goal or an important one.

Wtf?! What does that even mean?! I take another look at Nainggolan's goal: The goal came in the 7th minute, the game ended 1:1 and wasn't really that decisive at that moment. So it's iconic because it's a wonder strike against Juventus. So the goal matters. ... Ähm ... Okay?!

Ask Inter fans what they remember about Nainggolan. I wonder how many would mention that goal instead of him being a flop ...

Great deal for everyone involved imo. And even though his betrayal was shocking and kind of desensitized me when it comes to Lukaku, still I'm glad he didn't completely ruin his career, and he won't play for Rube.

We might get Pavard as a consequence of all this shambolic moves and people who don't like Lukaku won't have to watch him at Inter. Wins all around as far as I'm concerned.

Word of advice don’t bother with him. You’re spot on in what you’re saying but he will just bend the criteria’s to whatever suits him. Of course no Lukaku goal was memorable for him, the guy was rooting against the club during the period he was here 😭😭😭

You are absolutely right mate. I definitely don't recall this Vecino's goal or any of the rest. I remember Vecino with his goal against Lazio and the other one against Milan, where we won 4-2, after being down 0-2.
Don't even recall any of Nainggolan's goals with Inter shirt.

this is the difference between great goals, and great goalscorers. Lukaku scored a few great goals at inter, but he will be known for being a great goalscorer rather than a scorer of great goals. Arguably our best since Eto'o.

This bitch thought so little of Inter all this time, that he was willing to ruin his career if that meant that he never had to wear our jersey...

What an absolute bitch.

Never play for Inter, ghost his teammates with whom he pretended to be close friends, ghost our management makes all the sense in the world to him if that means he could gtfo of Inter.

Absolute Class A+ bitch.

Fuck him, fuck his career, and in the words of another cunt (Ibra) fuck his mom!

The point raised was that Lukaku despite his goals was not part of anything magical or special wearing the Inter shirt.
And that ironically his biggest moments are 3 choke jobs (head block vs Shakhtar that kept us out of Europe, EL own goal and CL unbelievable miss)

That's all there is to it. If you can claim that you were a witness of any magic Lukaku moments that will live with us for years to come, be my guest and name them.

A tap in vs Gladbach was mentioned earlier, maybe you can do better.

How I remember lukuku @ Inter:

- His great goal against beelan (solo goal)
- Penalty given to Esposito
- Chokejob against Sevilla (EL final)
- Chokejob against Man City (CL final) - this one hurts the most
- Being a manchild, being all talk and no walk.
