CdS: Rodriguez has given his ok to the transfer. Will come in January or in June
According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter and the entourage of Ricardo Rodriguez have had frutiful talks about the future of the Swiss international. Talks that imply that Rodriguez will choose Inter instead of Chelsea and PSG. The only uncertainty now is when the deal will be finalised. Inter needs a loan deal with an option to buy the player in June since the club is under Financial Fair Play restrictions. Should Wolfsburg want 22 million euros upfront, a January transfer is impossible even if Banega would make it to China. So far this is the main issue that has to be resolved unless the transfer will be postponed to June.

Di Marzio: Inter chase after Ricardo Rodriguez – 22M Euros is the price tag
While the main objective for the January transfer window is to temporary patch holes in rosters mid-way through a season, it is also important to plan ahead for the future. That’s exactly what Inter is doing as they’re looking to secure Wolfsburg‘s Ricardo Rodriguez. The 24 year old Swiss defender has an exit clause of 22M Euros, but a deal can be made at 20. French side Paris Saint Germain are also in the race, but Rodriguez would prefer Serie A.

He isn't a bad player. I even think he is better than our current full-backs.

Hes a world class full-back to ours utterly useless clowns of full-backs.

I remain sceptical about this only beacuse its seems to good to be true.

So is there any direct quote by an Inter official hinting for any slight interest in this player?

No?

I always sign him in FIFA career mode, because guy is a beast. I'm glad our management realizes that he will be an upgrade to our current fullbacks.

This season he has been deployed more as a LCB, but the role he excels is LB

Good thinking by our management

No but the rumours about him are serious.

I'm very surprised about his release clause and that he's not being picked up by an EPL team.

Ricardo Rodriguez declines Chelsea, PSG & Arsenal: Only wants Inter

The evidence is really piling as more and more Italian media outlets confirm that Wolfsburg’s Swiss international Ricardo Rodriguez has decided on a transfer to Inter.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports on his homepage that the player prefers Italy and Inter to Paris Saint-Germain as the Nerazzurri have already contacted the player’s entourage and are hoping to secure a deal now for when the transfer window opens in June. The player has a minimum release fee clause set at €22 million but a deal could be brokered at €20 million.

Tuttosport also confirms that Rodriguez wants a move to Inter after having declined interest from Chelsea and Arsenal. According to the Turin-based newspaper the Inter hierarchy are pessimistic about being able to sign him during this transfer window as they first have to raise funds for such a transfer. Should Ever Banega once again not feature in Stefano Pioli’s plans when the season kicks-off again this weekend, the Argentinian playmaker could be shipped off to China for around €30 million, raising more than enough to activate the player’s €22 million minimum release fee clause.

His roots are south american, so why not? Lifestyle choice :datass:

I doubt Chelsea want to sign him soon, seeing that they just splashed a fortune on Marcos Alonso and also have César Azpilicueta.

We have the potential to be greater than P$G, our league is stronger and Arsenal are just... losers :D

As long as Barca/Real don`t step in, we have a good chance of landing him in summer. Fingers crossed!

I read multiple statements by his agent that he loves Italy. After all he was born in Switzerland, so he'll be extremely close to his family, if he's living in Milano. Indeed a lifestyle choice as Dario put it.

It's probably because Inter have fullbacks problems and there's no serious competition at his position. He'll be an automatic starter here which at a big club with an ambitious future like Inter/Suning is a huge factor.

22m, we should definitely save money on Gaglia and make this a priority. if he is available for that price, and wants to join us (which i dont believe) we should be all over it. Sell Banega for him. He's probably one of the best LBs in the world, available at a good price and still quite young

We don`t need to sell Banega, don`t be that desperate :D

We can have both, thanks to Suning  just have patience and meanwhile make room for the new defenders [offload unwanted players].

If he comes, does that mean Ansaldi will be switched to the right flank?
