Can i just ask, it is a given that Nainggolan is going to be sold to Cagliari for 12 million or is there are chance he will stay with us this season?

I would say there’s a decent chance, Conte wouldn’t have thrown him on if he wasn’t entertaining the possibility.

Nainggolan, who entered in the second half against Fiorentina, is on Cagliari’s wish list and there are also foreign clubs monitoring his situation. According to FCIN1908, Inter are open to let the player go but only on the permanent basis, therefore, any loan deal is excluded. The agent, Beltrami, is expected to meet his own client in the coming hours to see what they need to do.

La Nuova Sardegna: Cagliari, through the words of its coach Eusebio Di Francesco, do not lose hope on bringing back Radja Nainggolan. The Belgian midfielder did not like the few minutes received in Inter-Fiorentina as he is not going to accept having a support role in this Inter team.

Pedulla regarding Nainggolan: “everything is open and talks with Cagliari can definitely be closed but only on loan with obligation to buy for €12m. It will depend on what the Rossoblu can come up with in terms of offer.”

Corriere dello Sport: Negotiations between Inter and Cagliari over Radja Nainggolan are at a stalemate. Inter are continuing to reject Cagliari’s offers and are continuing to demand at least €9 million for the Belgian central midfielder, who would only be willing to leave Inter in order to return to Cagliari.

At the moment Cagliari do not have the resources to meet Inter’s demands and would like to bring Nainggolan to the club in a similar manner to how they brought Diego Godin to the club. :palm: In order for this to happen, Nainggolan would need to terminate his contract and receieve a severance pay from Inter and Cagliari would be willing to give him at least a two year deal. :serious:

By offloading Nainggolan, the report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that Inter would make a real saving as they would save around €9 million alone from offloading his salary and also avoid paying Nainggolan any add-ons he could potentially earn.

For 12 million we should keep him as a bench option especially since we all know Eriksen isn’t going to play

Of course they want to sign Nainggolan for free. Why not expecting it when they signed Nainggolan on loan with Inter paying a part of his wages last season and Godin for free this summer?

Injured, out against benevento. Doubt it's really an injury, probably has to do with cagliari negotiations.

Official explanation is sore throat

We cannot afford to take a 15M book loss, plus salary severance, for Nainggolan to leave. There's a zero percent chance we terminate his contract.

He probably smoked a pack after that Fiorentina game.

Can't blame him if he wants to be a clear starter. The role he got against Fiorentina is exactly the one he'll have all season. What a great player and horrible piece of business we did  That's a real example of what happens when you let a coach get what he wants even if it makes no sense.

I really don't care anymore if he stays or goes, I'm sick of these games between us and cagliari. Just hoping we can bring another mid in his place or him leaving being one small step towards someone like kante, cus i want us to have similar sub impact in midfield like we did against fiorentina.

He wants to go, the club wants to sell...

If he stays to put pitiful performances like last weekend's, where he looked like a fat 50yo, better to cash in. This guy doesn't give a fuck about the club, I don't know why some of the fans keep waiting for him.

He doesn't want to go anywhere else.

It's Inter, Roma, Cagliari or perhaps a team like Fiorentina or Milan if they were ambitious and wealthy enough.

The problem is we wont cash in but lose cash. Cagliari want him for free with us paying out his contract.

Actually his book value is 19m€ so that would be an enormous capital loss.

Two scenarios:

Keep him => he costs the club 17.xx m€ (annual amortized cost + gross salary), Radja in the squad

Let him go => capital losses of 19m€ - 8.x m€ gross salary saving = 10m€ to cover, Radja not in the squad

So we definitely need to get a transfer fee to mitigate the amount of money we need to cover PLUS the cost of the replacement player we need to acquire
