What a game!!! I love these! Full of passion (and violence )!!!

Portugal deserved to win, and Holland deserved to lose.
First, the injury inflicted to Ronaldo (who I don't like but nevertheless...), then the attack on Figo, then the 2 balls not given back etc etc.

PORTUGAL!!! FIGO!!!

Deco's second yellow was a joke, he'll be badly missed vs England, but I hope they can still win.

Van Basten's gonna get fired, not just for losing, but for losing with Nistelrooy left on the bench, who I think would've scored at least one of the chances Kuyt missed.

It was for the foul he comitted just before he was manhandled. It was really dumb of him, you can't pull a counterattacking player.

for MOM award i give to Miguel. I think he is simply awsome and is my player of the tournament so far.

I agree with you here. It seems he was the only one on the pitch with a clear head. And he totally negated Robben.

I will say this again, thank God Juve didn't get him. They were close to, but Valencia took the risk (disagreement with Benfica) and got him.

Finally, I don't know why some blame the referee???

He didn't tell Boulahrouz to eat up CR9 or elbow Figo, he didn't tell Costinha to handle the ball (if anything, the ref should be applauded for not sending Costinha earlier when he deserved it), he didn't tell Figo to head-butt Van Bommel (which made the Dutch angry) and didn't tell Deco and Gio to act like fools out there.

It was one of those memorable games that professional superstars let the kid in them play good-old backyard soccer!

The worst team wins, what a joke a 1/4 Portugal-England, its going to be very easy for the other semifinalist (Brazil, Spain or France) to get into the final now.
The ref very poor, he should have added more time, Portugal all the time losing time. Figo and Deco should work in a circus.

Its a good job juve dnt get their dirty little paws on Miguel, what a player he is. I wished he shot at the end of the match instead of passing to his mate, but thats football for ya.

IMO the ref was very poor, he had no control over the match. So many yellows, and justified or not he handed them out like christmas cards, when surley a stern ticking off would have done. I hope he joins Mr Poll on the plane home for dud refs.

Yeah it was right IMO.

Also, Deco's foul on Heitenge (the yellow card one) was vicious as well. It wasn't cool of Heitenge to take the ball ahead and not kick it back for fair play. Still, you don't tackle players like that.

Again, both sets of players didn't practise fair play, so I don't think the ref is to blame.

Anyway, I am taping this game soon and will keep it forever!

Even the commentators here believe the ref killed of the game as he never had control over the game what so ever.

And that's exactly why he is to blame. You never saw a game of Lubos Michel or Collina getting 4 red cards. Those referees are authorities and can handle the game, cool it down etc. Ivanov just made things worse everytime he whistled.

Further, that was a 100% penalty on Robben.

Deco'S foul is pretty understandable. Heitinga simply played on, although Portugal were supposed to have the ball. Bad foul, but again, the referee should have controlled that. The second yellow was a joke.

and finally, with regards to the Dutch. This is the least talented Dutch team in 20 years. Non of the players are anything close to world class, except for Robben and Van Persie they all more or less suck and they faced a great Portuguese team, and were unlucky to lose.
Van Basten took the maximum out of that team. And Ruud played piss poor in the previous two games and wouldn't have got the chances Kuyt got, because Kuyt was moving around a lot and was distributing the ball well, something RVN doesn't do.

Anyway...let's hope for Big Phil's Hattrick against Sven. This time it looks bad though, because without Costinha and Deco, they will be severly weakened.

Figo won't miss the game. He didn't get a red card for the incident but a yellow, and this won't lead to any consequences. He will play.

But Van Bommel is a real idiot, despite being a Barca player. Among our whole squad, he is the only one I would gladly sell.

Hmm, i think you have a point. I forgot that Figo got a yellow for it. The ref initially missed it it seems, but he later booked him for it. I think it's a rule that if the ref punished it in the game, no further action will be taken.
