Pirelli Cup [ Fiorentina - Inter ]

Fiorentina has announced that on 29 August at 8.45 pm in Florence they will play against Inter for the Pirelli Cup.

I guess this will be our last friendly game before the start of Serie A.

I was hoping for other big clubs like Valencia/Milan/Madrid/....

But no problem, it would be a good game for us, especially after the recent purchases of Fiorentina - Maresca, Portillo, Ufa...., ... and they are still in the market. Lets just hope that we will see two teams with their best team, especially Fiorentina. Coz Inter has that many so called :star: players, that it does't matter that much. :dielaugh:

Fiorentina made some great signings in the summer IMO.

Ujfalusi impressed me a lot in Euro 2004 and the fact that he was made as the new captain of Hamburg before he left must mean that he is rated highly there. I never watch him in the Bundesliga before so my judgment is solely based on his Euro 2004 form.

It will be interesting to see Javier Portillo. The kid broke the Real Madrid youth team scoring record but is always over-rated and we all know of the Spanish curse in Serie A. Will a youngster break the tradition or will it continue?

And I wanna see one of the most loyal 'servant' in world football nowadays. Fiorentina's 'bandiera', their captain, Di Livio. :star: Even though he's a Juventino, I have the utmost respect for him for sticking up with the club even when they went down.

Ujfalusi didn't impress me too much at the EURO2004. To my eyes there were lots of confusion in the Czech's defence. Czech's central defence was kind of shaky to me and their defending was overall not so convincing. That's why it was a bit surpise to me they didn't conceded too much goals.

It really was one of the most beautiful acts in football-world lately. Di Livio was still NT-player in World Cup. Incredible, to Serie C. :heart:

It was amazing, that Fiorentina almost refused to give him an extension for this season.
