Here's a question for everyone [couldn't find more adequate thread]:
Does anyone know an easy way to buy laptop in US and ship it elsewhere without paying ton of taxes ?
The reason I'm asking is because I want a laptop which costs roughly $1100 in the US and around $2500.
One option is to find someone going overthere and ask for a favour to buy it and bring it over the borders as his own property ...
Buy it off ebay and make sure the guy doesn't write the price on it or something. Meaning, make sure the package looks like as if a friends is sending you some stuff.
If the customs asked you to pay anything just tell them that it is your laptop and you friend is just sending it to you.
Maybe ask him to gift wrap it?
Yup, that was suggested by other people too but I am not sure if I should go for it when it comes to laptop...if it was pair of shoes decision would have been much easier
Quite the contrary.
How could you order shoes from ebay? And what if they don't fit? Lol
With laptops it is easy. You find yourself a seller with good reputation on ebay, make sure he has what you want and he can post it to you and that's it.
I myself bought a laptop on ebay without any problems.
I was referring to the posibility of customs causing problems, the value of money that would be in the balance would be lower
I'll start looking out for what I want on ebay but it's kind of a customized HP Envy 15t-j100 so I'll see what comes closest to the desired configuration.
Another option popped out today to order over a guy that travels often but we'll see how that pans out.
Just send me the money and I`ll look into it. You can trust me, ofcourse.
