Why ?

Yeah it is true Patrick was cursed by injuries lately, but he is still representing the class in the midfield, and the only thing that stopped him from showing it this season were injuries. If they won't happen again this season, I don't see any reason why Patrick can't play at the level, that people used to see from him every game for last 7 years or so.

Vieira is still a world class, no doubt about that. If he stays healthy for the rest of the season, then it's fine. If not, Moratti should really consider selling him, if that's possible. No reason to keep Vieira on the pay roll if he is constantly injured. With Vieira, Inter will play better on European stage.

Sorry, but I don't think that Vieira has proven at Inter that he deserves a starting spot in our line-up. Granted he's one of the highest paid and the captain of the French national team, but that still doesn't justify his poor performances and minimal playing time for Inter.

Poor performances?? When ever patrick's been fit he has performed well. The problem has been he is too often not fit.

Exactly. Vieira played some poor matches at the start of his Inter career. Still he is remember as one of the crucial players of Inter's succes at the first part of the 06/07 season. It tells something about his class. He really is one of the best, he brings calmness, good passing and grit to Inter's midfield. I'm really looking forward to see Vieira-Cambiasso-Zanetti again in our lower midfield. Really one heck of a machine there.
