GdS is saying Dejan will play in midfield.

He is starting with Zanetti and Chivu. Somehow I look forward to seeing him tonight. He can be more focused on the offensive part of the play. Also happy Chivu is playing instead of Dacourt. Chivu is a better passer and hence a more offensive threat than Oli.

Best of luck Oliv and thank you for all these years

Official: Dacourt To Bologna In January

Olivier Dacourt signed for Inter Milan on a two year deal, after parting ways with former club AS Roma in 2006. The Frenchman proved to be a pivotal player for the Nerazzurri in his first season with the club, as he became a key member of a depleted midfield during his side’s Scudetto winning campaign.

On December 2 2007, however, Dacourt unfortunately injured his cruciate ligament in his left knee, and was forced to sit out the remainder of the 2007/08 Serie A season.

The Frenchman had a great relationship with then-coach Roberto Mancini and his deputy Sinisa Mihajlovic, which resulted in his future being secured at Inter, despite his serious injury.

Since then however, Mancini has been sacked and former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has stepped in to take charge. Under Mourinho, Dacourt has managed just 15 minutes of playing time, and has become increasingly displeased with life at Inter as a result.

His contract expires with the Nerazzurri in June, however until then, the club has decided to loan the player out to Bologna, giving the midfielder the opportunity to reunite with his former assistant coach Mihajlovic.

The loan will be for a six month period, with the option of extending his stay at the completion of the season.

Dacourt bids Inter farewell

Olivier Dacourt has revealed that he will probably leave Inter in January after failing to win over boss Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman was used with some consistency by previous Coach Roberto Mancini following his Bosman move from Roma in 2006.

However, Mourinho doesn’t seem to rate the former Everton man that highly and a New Year split now seems inevitable.

“I am thinking of going,” Dacourt noted. “There are offers on the table and I am ready to leave Inter.

“I have interest from England and Italy,” added the 34-year-old. “Age is no barrier when you have a desire to play – and I have that.”

While Mourinho has been reluctant to field the midfield terrier, it’s understood that Bologna – now bossed by former Inter employee Sinisa Mihajlovic – and Genoa are keen.

“The fact that I am not playing now is simply because the Coach has decided that way,” continued the former international.

“I have no relationship with Mourinho. I was a starter before he arrived, but he has made his choices and I can’t do anything more than to accept them and continue to work hard.”

Its best for all parties if he moves. I am sure he will be a professional and perform at whichever club he moves to.

It's a mistake to let him go.

If somebody starter in midfield become injured, what gonna we do??? Burdisso?

We have only Vieira in midfield-reserve, who is always injured.

And perhaps, Jimenez/Figo can cover Stankovic role, and Dejan could go back to 3-man midfield.

We were quite lucky in autumn, not many injuries in midfield, the 4-man played all-the-matches.

Or we can see again the fantastic 4-3-3?

If Dacourt goes,it would be more space for Bolzoni. So,Dacourt leaving is a good thing for us,and for him. He gived to Inter more than anyone expected. I wish him all the best...

Chivu, Bolzoni, Burdisso (who has always been decent as a DM) can all fill in for Dacourt.

Having 3 players to fill in for a guy who isn't a starter himself is enough.

You can count the minutes he has played these six months on one hand and still not heard one word of complaining. Credits.

Dacourt won me over when he replaced Cambiasso like he did in his first season. Great player.

Why would he think he was a starter before Mourinho's arrival? Doesn't make much sense to me. He was simply a sub from day one.

All the injuries did make him a starter. And tbh, his performances then were worthy of him being a starter. He gave us a lot more than Vieira. He just didn't have a big enough name or paycheck like Vieira.

In his first season, he was among the 11 player, who played the most. In spite of Vieira, who never could be count on this basis.

He is our second best defensive midfielder. Too bad he can't exactly play along with Cambiasso, unless we play 4-2-4 and Il Capitano plays left-back.
