Crap transfer as I previously said. I don't see the point with an oldie as the THIRD keeper.

Only good thing is that he's an Inter fan, who used to play for our youth team.

I wonder what happened to Cordaz? He was suppose to be the 3rd GK, but he was replaced by Bindi in the Treviso game and now Orlandoni has been signed. To be honest I couldn't care less about this signing, I mean seriously, how many chances do 3rd GKs get to play during seasons anywayz? I doubt we'll ever see him on the pitch. Atleast we'll have an oldie rotting on the bench instead of Cordaz who can still get some more experience elsewhere.

I didn't wantd new 3th keeper, but when mancini said we are going to sign keeper I was just hoping it's going to be a good deal...and this is

he is inter fan, he is 32 and that's perfect if you ask me.

Dumbest thing is to have younger keeper as sub, and even more dumb to have him as 3th keeper.

I was hoping we will have cesar and toldo, with primavera keeper bindi as 3th keeper.

but this finished good, better then some, let's say, sweden 25 years old keeper, who is gobbi fan

I am happy with this deal, in Paolo Orlandoni we have got a loyal and experienced player who has spoken wonders about the club he loves - Inter.

Orlandoni>Cordaz

Thank God, finally some positive words about Orlandoni, I thought I was the only person who didn't mind his signing, especially because as Fabio said he sounds loyal and committed.

I always think that a third goal should be someone who is not young and doesn't mind to be benched all the time .. if we put Carini as third goalkeeper .. will he ever has the chance to play ? NO !
so how do u expect him to earn some experience ?!

Who is saying Carini should be the third keeper? It's obvious that he was definitely not a player for that role. He's way too good.

All I'm saying is that a third keeper like Orlandoni won't play a single match, unless something extremely bizarre happens. Look at Milan. How many matches has Fiori played during all these years?

That's why I prefer a Primavera keeper as the third keeper. That means he stays with the Primavera team and play week in and week out, and if something bizarre happens, he'll get his chance. And the good thing about this, is that Bindi in this case would be match-fit. Orlandoni on the other hand won't be match-fit at all, because he hasn't played a game for months.

And please don't give me the argument: "What if Toldo and Julio Cesar are injured when we will play a CL final?"
I mean, come on. :D

I personally don't even think that a 3rd keeper is needed. Does Juventus even have a 3rd keeper? For all these years, I've only heard Buffon & Chimenti playing for them. Only because of a bad injury to Buffon that they get Abbiati.

But personally, although a no transfer would have been best, I don't give a d@mn about this transfer since I believe the fee & wage will be minimal and that Orlandini won't feature for the team at all and thus, it doesn't matter if he's a good or bad keeper.

That's from Gobbi's official site (and damn you Master Han for making me go there and infect my poor pc! :D)

Jimmy surely has a point about the 3rd keeper, I don't why teams feel the need for 3. Oh heck, that's surely not a big deal anyway.

Don't you guys get it? 3rd choice keeper never plays! Juve had 2nd and 3rd choice keepers before Buffon got injured.. but what did they do? They got a new one anyway!

I'd be willing to bet that Orlandoni never plays a Serie A or CL match. I'm also pretty confident he won't play any role in the Coppa Italia.

Anyway, he seems like a class act. Probably more passionate about inter than 99% of the people registered here (no offence!).

But look at Fontana... damn, what a great 'keeper. He single-handedly saved Chievo in the first half against Juve.

Just wanna point out that Juve were lucky because Buffon's injury happened when the transfer window is opened.

Yeah but if you agree with Jimmy, you'd say that Chimenti was at Juve just in case Buffon got injured. Since when that happened, Juve went and got Abbiati, that shows that we're not the only ones who are cautious about this.

Then again, Chimenti is not Toldo or we have had any injuries on that department. Had Toldo or Julio Cesar been long-term injured, then fine. I would have accepted the transfer.

But if our first keeper is injured, we don't need to sign a new first keeper, which was what Juve did. They didn't sign a backup for Chimenti. They signed a replacement for Buffon. So we can't compare Inter and Juve on this issue.

We have to look at Milan to look at the similarities. Dida and Abbiati. Two keepers who neither should be benched. Toldo and Julio Cesar. Once again, two keepers who shouldn't be benched. And then a 30+ keeper that is the third keeper. We are yet to see if Orlandoni will even play a single minute, but looking at Milan and their Fiori, he won't. And thus, making this an idiotic transfer from first of all a financial point of view. Even if he has ridiculous wage (which I doubt, because this is Inter), it is still money that goes to nothing. And second of all, this will mean lack of valuable experience for Bindi who might get called up for some matches and be on the bench. Now, he won't be that.

The only positive thing is that we have at least signed the best choice for a 30+ third keeper. An Inter fan who knows his role.

Crespo, Figo, I
the guy loves inter, and I think he's not too bad of a signing....
I too prefer a primavera there, but mancio decides not to risk things.. so I think signing him is good..

He sets a good example for the other players, as an old boy from the youth team who is passionate about the club. He will obviously work hard in training and try to be a good influence on the rest, which I'm sure he will succeed at. Money isn't everything, and if money was an issue then he would not have been acquired. Anyhow, I'm sure he probably earns no more than 1,000 euros a week anyway. 52,000 p/year euros for a man who will set a good example to the rest is hardly a bad investment. Especially when 52,000 is f-ck all to a club like Inter. This is not conference division in Scotland, so RELAX............

Don't lose sleep over something so insignificant.

Buffon is one of the top 3 keepers in the world, while Toldo is past his prime. Because of that, Buffon is number one with no discussions, while Toldo has to fight with young and promising Julio Cesar.

That is the difference between us and Juve. Still, both Inter and Juve have 3 keepers. Juve actually spat on Chimenti's face by signing Abbiati! It was crystal clear that they didn't trust him!

It's true that we didn't have any injuries, but we can't rely on Gobbi's luck (Buffon got injured when the transfers market was open).

I really don't see much difference in attitude. Juve didn't feel safe with a Primavera keeper on the bench, we signed Orlandoni to avoid ever being in that situation.
