Arsenal and Man Utd have reportedly informed Inter Milan of their intention to launch offers for Nicolò Barella.
The Magpies instead turned to AC Milan star Sandro Tonali who’s on the verge of completing a switch to the mega-rich Premier League club.
Yet, FcInterNews believes it’s not over yet for Barella who could still make the trip across the English channel this summer.
As the report claims, both Arsenal and Man United are preparing upcoming onslaughts for Inter Milan’s Barella.
The source expects the Gunners to match the €100 million offer they presented to West Ham United for the services of England international Declan Rice.
So if the Nerazzurri were to receive enticing bids, the Italian giants and the Sardinian midfielder would surely sit at the table to discuss it.
Barella has been a key player for the Beneamata since making the switch from Cagliari back in 2019, cementing himself as one of the best box-to-box players in Europe.
He’s also an instrumental member of Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad, helping the Azzurri lift the Euro 2020.
Last season, the 26-year-old contributed with nine goals and 10 assists across all competitions. His current deal runs until 2026.

Pep can get fucked. He signed a starter from a rival and he's hijacking a rival's deal for a top prospect. AGAIN. That's Bayern level of mercato.

Declan Rice is a good player unlike Maguire. I’ll give him that.

Italy star Nicolo Barella will not push for a transfer to Liverpool from Inter Milan this summer - according to a fresh report - even though Jurgen Klopp is such a vocal admirer of him.
Despite helping Inter to the Champions League showpiece last season, speculation over Barella and his immediate future at the San Siro continues to gather pace. Liverpool are among those reportedly interested, amid suggestions they will bid £77m for Barella to help boost their engine room.
However, after shelving plans to target Jude Bellingham due to the costs involved, such a huge outlay looks extremely unlikely, with Liverpool monitoring the likes of Khephren Thuram, Manu Kone and Ryan Gravenberch. Still, when speaking about Barella, previously, Klopp waxed lyrical about the 26-year-old as he continues to keep Manchester United and Newcastle on red alert.
Assessing his attributes, Klopp said: "He's a really good player. He's a really good player and I like him a lot. He has all the things you want from any midfield player - he's aggressive, he's technical, he can run for ages and all these kinds of things. A top-class player."

Actually the first bid for Barella was 60mln pounds, but Inter rejected it, and Barella himself closed the door for a move there. After that Newcastle turned their attention to Tonali.

yeah - I wouldnt read anything into it, personally. If Barella wanted to move, they could have negotiated a price that we'd accept. Without a final fee that they settle on, its a little meaningless in some ways

Tonali is also younger and much more physical

What exactly is more physical about Tonali? He's taller so probably stronger, but other than that Barella is faster, more agile, has more stamina and better balance. I don't see how Tonali is more physical let alone 'much more'.

Tonali is about as physical as Gagliardini all things considered.

For me he is the best Inter midfielder since I became an Inter fan in the late 90s. And in form Barella is better than Verratti too imo, let alone Tonali. We are so lucky he doesn't want to leave. The Zhangs would have shipped him out 2 years ago.
