Which is exactly an issue of mental aspect. He crumbles in front of goal almost every single time once he's in a good opportunity. Because such chances even players whom lack technical ability can score goals, as long as they are prepared mentally.

Barella is weird. He’s so composed when he’s in the middle of the pitch making all these elegant passes and dribbles but the moment he needs to take a shot all this composure is momentarily gone. It’s a psyschological issue

There were other possible options for him as well. Maybe try to hold on to the ball and make your teammates come help...

By that time we were still "winning" the tie. Oh well, let it be a school for future. We were naive throughout the whole game.

Cant fault him for that "chance", it would have taken an astronomical finish to score from that poor pass from lautaro.

He had alot of subpar touches and passes though. But alot of reason for that was probably due to the chaos in our backline which hurt our buildup game severly.

I think the issue was the touch that took him wide, more than the finish.

I would have been keen to give him MotM for last night on our end. No one was great, but I thought of our midfielders he was clearly the best.

He had some rare glimpses of leadership qualities last night. Atleti had a team huddle at every break (even at HT during ET). Lautaro didn’t step up, nor did Inzaghi. But Niccolo insisted on getting everyone together and spoke to his squad. Wasn’t expecting this from him given his temper and usual hand gestures , but glad to see him growing into his role as the vice captain
