Darren Collison is a beast. Repping the Bruins well. Still looked awkward to see him AND OJ Mayo on the same team though.

Shitty game, not surprising due to lack of time together.. chemistry is a work in progress.

When I checked the stats it leaped out to me that free throws have made the difference in this game. Howard and Hill bricked many of them but Nash and Kobe were not at the line at all.

Sorry to go against the tread but I hope the Lakers crash and burn this season, along with the Heat lol. I know I wanted Lebron to get his ring last year, but I'm ready to see new people in the limelight.

IMO the NBA is the worst league out of the 4 major sports =/

The NBA regular season is a joke. We already know who is going to make it to the Conference Finals and have a pretty good idea who is making it to the NBA Finals. Yes I'll admit there are a few times where a new team comes out of nowhere (Mavericks 2 years ago) But for the most part...........we know who the hell is going to Finals =/

Makes the regular season so unimpressive and makes me unmotivated to watch it.

Well I don't know who's gonna make it. The Western Conference is wide wide open with no real favs as the Thunder take a major step back in their ship run. I can even make a case for Clippers vs Nuggets.

Hell, I'm a Lakers fan and I agree (except for the crash and burn part of course). Though I acknowledge that Lakers fans are by far the worst in the NBA, and I can't really blame anyone for hating them.

But yes, the NBA is a joke from a competitive balance standpoint. Not just talking about this season, but in general. And although I don't give a shit about baseball, from a monetary standpoint MLB is a joke in that regard as well. However, the nature of that sport allows for far more upsets and unpredictability so that even though you have teams with ginormous payroll, you'll see them get upset quite often. NBA is far more predictable and the better team will almost always win a 7 game series. They put in regulations like the new luxury tax structure, but all that does is further limit the number of teams that can afford it. The Lakers may have to pay an insane amount of luxury tax now, but their revenue still more than makes up for it. Meanwhile it's now tougher for a team like OKC to be able to re-sign both Harden and Ibaka.

I kinda agree, Lakers are great financially the income is just CRAZY and can spend money like that , they just got a new 3billion dollars (you read that right! 3 billion!) for 15 years i think for tv rights..

Lakers also have the top selling world wide jersey(kobe), and also one of the most sold in Europe (Gasol) , add to that nash and dwight howard.. than add to that 82 sold out games.. damn its good to be a laker :slick:

btw Its not like its Lakers fault that the other teams went to small markets..

I'm not saying its the Lakers fault. The league itself needs to find a new way to become competitive. In terms of competitiveness if you want to rank it by different teams winning championships or participating in Championship games NBA is FARRRRRR below any other sport.

Holy shit I just looked up the numbers and this is hilarious............LOL

Alright the most competitive sport (out of the major 4 in the states) is BASEBALL!!!!

Since 1980 there have been 19 different teams to WIN the world series while 26 different teams have made and APPEARANCE.

So in terms of % that is 63% of the league has won a world series in the past 30 years while 87% of the league has been to the world series! That second number is wow......

Next up is actually the NHL

Hockey has had 16 different teams WIN the Stanley cup while 23 teams have made an APPEARANCE in the finals

So 53% have won & 76% have made it to the finals

Third place is NFL which isn't bad either

Football has had 15 different teams WIN the superbowl and 25 have mad an APPEARANCE

So 47% of the teams have won a super while 78% of the teams have made it to the Superbowl.

Final is the NBA which is pathetic.

In the past 30 years ONLY 9 different teams have WON the NBA Finals while 19 have made an APPEARANCE to the finals........

So 30% of the teams have won :)trollol:) and 63% of the teams have made an appearance.

I honestly don't have a solution for it, but my god there has to be a better way to balance the teams =/

what you are saying makes no sense man.

Sorry but if you want to win ,you need to invest , invest smart , look at san antionio spurs and new york knicks (the opposite)

Serie a should change something too, only 3 teams (10 percent) have won the league the last 10 years, oh noes

......thats not true. You're mis interpreting the meaning of invest. San Antonio didn't invest in shit. They got lucky with the first pick in the draft when Tim Duncan was coming out lol. They had no right getting that pick. Same with Chicago a few years back getting Derrick Rose.

OKC is similar but they had 2-3 years of great drafting to get where they are. And a couple of good trades. That's good management but it still doesn't change the fact that every year in the NBA there are 1-2 MAYBE a third team in each conference that will be competitive. The rest are a bunch of scrubs building.

On the other hand when the MLB season starts nobody knows who the fuck is going to win the division or the world series. Look at the predictions people made in the MLB thread and tell me what are the percentages people got right?

The Rockets are very foolish to pay Harden what he wants. He is not worthy of a max contract. It's amazing he goes from one of the best 6th men in the league to suddenly being overrated with what he's being paid.

Houston I think could be a mess.... if they start winning or look like contenders I'll eat my words but I just don't see it with what they have.

LA LA is a lock? They're just an accident waiting to happen as long as Mike Brown remains the coach. Do I think Nash will make them better? Yes, but he deals with injury problems, always stretching his back on the bench. Blake as back up just ain't enough, Lakers would be lucky with someone like Bledsoe, J.Crawford or Billups. Could be a Dwightmare season with many chemistry issues.
