Finally got Spotify. Anyone else have the upgrade? Is it worth it?

It's completely ruined any plans of mine for study.

I only really know the "obvious" Santana tracks but my favorites are:

Oye Como Va
No One to Depend On
Evil Ways
Europa

Finally got Spotify. Anyone else have the upgrade? Is it worth it?

I have the desktop version for $10/mo and crush it all day everyday at work. I have discovered a ton of music. The catalog is pretty amazing and by eliminating ads, you basically have the greatest iTunes library of all time at your disposal.

They used to not have a few of my favorite bands, including Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Dylan but they've added those and now basically the Beatles are all that's missing, for me.

If you torrent frequently, perhaps it's not worth it, but I am very happy with Spotify. The social aspect is great, too.

Oh yeah, I think they actually live in Ireland, don't they? Seen them twice and they were great.

Do they? Well that's great, maybe we'll get the same flight to Belgium then.

I do know they used to busk in Ireland and play pubs years ago... Assume they still live there when not recording/touring.

tbh suggesting they're like Santana is kind of like saying arepas are like arroz con pollo... both latin, but very different

Mana is a popular Mexican "rock" group, but they're modern and slightly Creed sounding for my taste.

I wasn't really suggesting that they were that alike, but rather I was trying to give him an artist that is awesome with a latin flavour. I'm not really a Santana fan, but there doesn't seem to be a heck of a lot artists out there that are similar to him.

I agree. True of so much "classic rock". They just don't make 'em like they used to.

I get bored of classic rock these days I used to be obsessed with LZ, Hendrix, Pink Floyd and all them as a teen, but these days I've just moved on I think. It's obviously subjective, but there is music these days that's taken the best elements of the classics and improved on them. The classics sound pleasant but a lot of it lacks substance for me

Marty Friedman's new solo record should be interesting. Out in a few weeks I think.
