Anyone know if Rebel Moon was any good? the sequel drops in a month or two

Synder touched it so no

he failed making a remotely watchable movie with Batman and Superman. He can't do anything unless he is doing scene by scene and line by line the source material. A lot like the Game of Thrones guys

Killers of the Flower Moon is a masterpiece. Robert De Niro and Leo Di Caprio were phenomenal. It was especially great to see De Niro as a real actor again, because it upset his fans like me that he starred in so many shitty movies in the last decade, just like Al Pacino. Thanks to Scorsese, he showed us again how to benefit from De Niro 👍

By the way I have to warn you guys ! This movie is a 3-hour hardcore drama ! I mean it's not for everyone !

Is it a better drama than Oppenheimer ? Fuck yeah !

Can it take the Oscar for Best Picture from Oppenheimer ? Fuck no !

The reason is simple ! The main character in Killers of the Flower Moon is an evil Jew. On the other hand ,the main character in Oppenheimer is a good Jew.

We all know those unwritten rules of Hollywood. An evil Jew has no chance against a good Jew.

Oppenheimer will get the award 🤫

10 nominations but zero award.

I told you !

So... How was it.
Probably a minority opinion but I preferred the 1st film overall. Generally, I was disappointed that Villeneuve deviated from the source material for the script going with the religious fanaticism arc which is pitched a bit politically convenient for my taste - shame. It changed the dynamic between the leads too since it doesn’t go like this in the original books either

I thought overall it moved too slowly when quite a bit is meant to transpire in this time frame so it felt disjointed for me. Fast here, slow there and then suddenly to arrive at a climax. Didn’t have the same pace or structure as the first film - a lot of ground covered in less film time and maybe that was always going to be the case since it's such a complicated world. I just didn't like all of Villeneuve's choices but he had to make some, tbf

Also the atomics aspect really wasn’t explained well in film or fallout which seemed to be wholly ignored

Clearly 3rd film pending although books make it more complicated to put on screen going forward

So, I had to split 3 hour Oppenheimer movie into 2 days. Not impressed with all that buzz.

I liked Dune part 2, but I didn't love it. The movie is long and yet it feels like it lacks the intricacies of the book in some parts. A solid 3/5, can't wait for the 3rd one. It's going to get crazy

Dune is visually stunning. Problem with the 2 parts of Dune is that tries to explain a lot in only 2-3 hours, i rather they would make 5 films instead of 3 and keep longer scenes creating atmosphere. In the second part, there is a moment where everything goes very fast and all main characters are together in a heartbeat
Anyway, is very good to be a blockbuster, obviously Villenueve is in another league creating this kind of films.

Actually Villenueve is usually much better at telling character stories. Blade Runner 2049, Prisoner, Arrival...
I don't know if it was a studio note to not flesh out Feyd-Rautha, which would've made the movie a lot better. Some scenes from the first hour could easily be Fast forwarded or shown in less scenes AND then you give other characters more time to make them more interesting and to make the last act better.

It just feels weird. Still not as bad as the Star Trek and Star Wars movies, but all my gripes are the difference between this being the new Lord of the Rings (a trilogy that takes its time and is considered a serious movie) and a slowburn blockbuster with weird pacing.

I thought it was a fantastic film, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish, thought it was excellently portrayed.

It was too long, 3 hours. And really did not go deep with different scientists' perspective on the bomb. Too much talking, no Japanese perspective of the outcome, no surrender of Japanese after the second bomb, no images of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Instead, bunch of congressmen were trying to make him a Commie after the war. Anyways.

Very good views on the film, the film did very much focus on wether Oppenheimer was a communist it wasn't as such a war film as I think you've taken to perspective, it's a film about one man and his involvement in the development of the atomic bomb, I enjoyed it.

Saw part 2.... it was ok.... cow bell :) is emperor

no idea what happening in these movies. It should have been a TV series to explain stuff and flesh stuff out. The end of part 2 felts super rushed. Dune 1 makes like no sense and feels like 1/5th of a movie. This is from a Sci fi fan

Feels like someone trying to do Game of thrones in 1-2 movies haha.
