It’s not a coincidence that we lost 3 in a row after the Juve game. The most unsurprising thing is our failure to score a goal from the Juventus game. That’s because Allegri exposed us and gave the blueprint to the rest of the league on how to stop us. Our offensive phase consists of one predictable play that we do over and over ever since the start of the season. I’m surprised it worked for so long. I know it’s obvious to everyone but all we do is play the ball out wide and cross and hope Icardi gets on the end of it. Unfortunately, it isn’t spaletti’s fault like everyone is saying. This is what he has to work with. Our midfield is weak, they can’t orchestrate an attack from the middle, they’re just good at making square passes. None of our midfielders have traits that make them an offensive threat like the ability to use flair and make space for themselves, and none of them can shoot from long range. That just leaves us with the option to go wide, and it doesn’t help that one of our wingers is so limited that he can’t do anything but cross. I expect us to continue this decline unless the managment realize this and make some buys in January.. We desperately need reinforcements. In this order: We need a midfielder that can create chance for himself and for the team, we need a left back, and we need a defensive midfielder.
On this defeat, I wouldn’t feel bad about it. Our objective isn’t the coppa italia, Milan can have this one they won’t be going far in it and their season is practically over as they have no chance of even fjnishing in europa league spots. Us on the other hand, we are third with a chance of extending the gap against lazio. We’re where we want to be. We haven’t lost anything yet. If i asked any of you if you would take our league position after this many fixtures at the start of the season you would take it.
So yeah, don’t feel too bad and start bashing the team for these run of losses. But you can worry because it’s understandable, we are in dire need of a chance in tactics and that can only happen with new signings. Lets not blow this.
