Wow it works so easy... And if you go to Barcelona, you can score and win the CL too. Not so.

Btw when was actually the last draw in a derby?

If I may add, I can say that for sure it won't look like the 3-0 defeat in the last leauge derby..
I noticed something diff in inter under Ranieri, maybe it's just me..
The players play with much more passion now, fight for any ball, Maicon and Milito looking like they used to be back in our treble season..
And oh man, our youngsters, can't explain in words how amazing it is to see them with the old lads..

That's not nearly what I used to see under Benitez, Gasp, Rafa and Leo.... closest inter looking to Mou's inter.

So I am optimistic, I think we will win it if we have Sneijder back and starting, along with Maicon not missing this match & ofc Alvarez, Milito.. Naga etc..

All of them play much better lately, and not just because they played weak teams.

Not putting too much expectations to the derby. Of course it's the first big match for a long time so obviously it's hugely interesting to see how our team does in this one. Milan's attacking power is scary, but I have a feeling we might be able to punish their defence. We just have to give control of the game to them and hit them at the break. That would be my plan to this game.

Considering Inter NOT being in the Scudetto race at the moment, Milan have more stakes in this game than we do. IMO they have to win this game more than we have to. I have calculated we need 15 wins (or 14 and couple draws) for the rest of the season to get the CL spot so we can even lose this one. Whereas Milan need to keep the pace of Juve. Someone might yank about "but it's the derby", to me the result isn't that important at this point as long as they leave everything they got on the pitch (so don't get me wrong).

Hopefully Ranieri will not overtinker in this one and freak us all out with his formation and HT subs since its a season defining game..

Milan are favorites still, but boy are they stressing now seeing how much we have scored lately and we have Lucio-Samuel wall behind.

Il Cap to leftback that is all Im asking atm.

Yeah, the pressure is on Milan but I also think that a win for us in this game could pave the way for our Scudetto challenge (a loss here and we would be kinda over and out). A win here would take us to 32 points, which would be 5 points less than Milan's. It is high time we start winning big games in Serie A this season, right?? How about starting from this game against our devil city rival. I don't have high hopes at the moment, despite our 5 games winning streak but I am sure that we are now capable of giving a tough fight to Milan, unlike till 2 months back. :)

Forza Inter !!

I think this game is more important for us than them, because we are 5pts behind 3rd spot while Milan has equal points to Juventus.

we're 6 points behind 3rd spot. it is as important for them to win as it is for us. They wouldn't want us to cut points while let Jube strolling upfront alone.

But it's the derby

Jokes aside, I'm honestly confused by your statement. Milan have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 8 matches, the only blip was that disgraceful 2-2 draw with Bologna. So if anything, I expect us to struggle scoring, considering that Pazzo & Milito only recently gained their form.

Another interesting stat, they've been awarded 5 penalties in the last 6 matches. :palm:

GdS: Inter medical staff is optimistic about Maicon. The cause of muscle pain is believed to be because of a heavy work week with six training sessions. Maicon will be kept under observation of Dr. Combi today and then the team will go from there.

But he could still miss the derby for a different reason. Apparently he said something offensive (cussing about something) after Faraoni's goal and that gesture could be reviewed.

Milan have tougher opponent than what we have. Their opponent is Juventus (which don't even have Euro games). We have Udinese, Lazio in front of us (and Napoli, Roma behind). I think there is a bigger possibility that we play better than these four teams for the rest of the season than Milan playing better than Juve for the rest of the season. Not saying both can't happen, but the bigger possiblity is for the former than the latter to happen. That's why I said that to me the game (and winning it) is more important to them than to us.

Yeah, but I think our attacking potential has increased and our strikers finding the net recently is only going to make our offense more dangerous for opponents. Of course that statement included the hope we will go with a defensive attitude and couter-attacking in mind to this game.

If Maicon is fit I wouldn't mind seeing the following:

-------Milito------
--------Wes------
Alv-Cambi-Motta-JZ
Naga-Wall-Lucio-Maic

With Alvarez having freedom to roam around and JZ covering Maicon.

Pretty sure we'll see something like this:

J. Cesar
Maicon - Lucio - Samuel - Nagatomo
Zanetti - Cambiasso - Motta
Ricky - Sneijder
Milito

A formation that also will change into a 4-4-1-1 with Ricky on the wing. The kind of role he had vs Parma. Sneijder will play like Milito did.
