Skriniar was about the get sold a year before. When Lukaku came on pure loan. The idea was to get Bremer for his replacement, hit huge capital gain, and have some cash remained. There was zero creditable rumors saying that we wanted to sell Skriniar in order to purchase Lukaku back.
This is another chapter of Brehme's fabricated stories, with a source of his mysterious insiders. Which are most probably his rich imagination.
I don't agree. There were rumors (plenty), that we had an agreement with Bremer, and an agreement in principal with Torino for the fee, even before the mercato got started. It was typical move of Marotta, trying to seal a replacement before the sale happens. Just like he tried to do this summer with Vicario, Frattesi and Augusto. I don't recall even a single rumor stating that we want to get Lukaku on permanent basis, funded by Skriniar's sale. If there is a such, please be so kind to share a link to it.Not really what happened. You're mixing up the conclusion with the actual events flow.
Skriniar to enable Bremer became a thing only after Lukaku was here. For a brief moment that was also tied with Dybala arriving on top of Lukaku, only to have Correa leaving as a new condition.
This is all in the space of two weeks...
We tried to sell Skriniar through all over June and then tried to sell Bastoni as well! All that was to get Lukaku's big fat contract in, not to sign a replacement. The replacement was going to be an aftermath, not the cause. Because obviously we'd have to get a defender if we sold a starter..
Bremer price skyrocketed after and Skriniar had already rejected leaving for PSG.
We then tried to sell him again after Bremer had signed for Juventus..
A price of Bremer was agreed in January. There was no connection with Skriniar, but with a potential De Vrij sale.I don't agree. He can't get sold if he doesn't want to.My genuine belief is that if Skriniar had a guarantee that he wouldn't be sold, he would've happily stayed here.
Dude, that was like 1pm... I don't live Down Under. I do my getting drunk between 1am and 5am...Ah, Brehme drunkposting... Eases the pain.
There's no way your 60 year old self is staying up until 5 a.m., unless you wake up at 4 a.m.Dude, that was like 1pm... I don't live Down Under. I do my getting drunk between 1am and 5am...

Try Hennigans... No smell, no tell... Scotch.
I think its Icardis fault that he got himself in a position that the management wanted to sell him but in Skriniars case its the management fault for letting him go for free.Double standard. When Management had tried to sell Icardi that was ok and after all everything was Icardi's fault but in Skriniar scenario it's management's fault
I don't want to argue about none of them. I think in both scenarios, the management should be blamed at the most.
there are more retards on the street right now rather than Skriniar. Let him be.Do you guys actually hate a player this much or just keeping a persona on the internet? I mean if you see Skriniar on the streets, do you make a bull sound and head march toward him to save mankind from this 'evil' guy?
Find me one statement from any player ever after he signed for a club where he says it took him a really long time to make up his mind if he really wanted to come there
Perhaps we may have dodged a bullet not giving Skriniar a fat contract. He looks absolutely toast and I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that he's at a new club. Clumsy, slow, second to the ball.. what happened? I feel like his mentality and character, which seemed like some of his best qualities a little while ago, are starting to become a bit of an issue.
