After a bit of time has passed on the Skriniar situation I feel much less fond of him than I did before. I respect his stint here but as big of clowns as we were in the Skriniar situation, Skriniar acted more dishonestly imo. Not that anyone here knows the whole truth but I'm going to choose to believe our management over Skriniar in this instance. He could have, at any point, told us that he had decided to leave or wanted to leave; he did not and it cost us. I get Skriniar has to look out for himself first and foremost and our management doesn't tend to handle contract situations well, but he should show a bit more respect to the club who really launched his career in the international eye and whose fanbase treated him like a king and wanted him to be the captain. IRC he even waited after the January window to state he wouldn't renew (but I could be wrong about this). Definitely not someone who should have ever worn the armband for a second last year, knowing what his intentions were.
Again, I respect Skriniar's on-the-field contributions and I respect his decision to leave the club, but I'd be lying if I wasn't salty about how he chose to exit.
