Just going to put in here he shouldn't have fell for Suarez fake shot on the right which lead to him getting a close shot off on his right before all the posts about his flawless game.

You can’t expect to keep a player like Suarez quite for 90 minutes. Today actually reminded me how dangerous he is, on a better day probably could have scored twice.

Defenders and goalkeepers get overrated for their on the ball skills and sometimes for the first group also their offensive input, so no. Not really a stretch. When some people will say that Skriniar is the best CB they will say Ramos, Godin, van Dijk etc are better because they score.

We've already seen that with Bonucci.

You haven't been reading many comments then. I'm not talking about this place, but there are several people who bring those "arguments" over here at times.

Even to this day, a Man Utd fanboy friend of mine insists that Skriniar is overrated and that he's unproven. Apparently he has to go to the PL to prove himself or win the Champions League.

Like I said, I wouldn't trade him for anyone. Meaning, on the strength of performances over the past year+, I have him #1. I do like Van Dijk a lot too though and think he is definitely world class and very dominating. I hate Chiellini with all my bones, but he's still world class and top in the world.

The rest, as brehme has already alluded to, get super hyped based on passing ability.

He's definitely better than Koulibaly.

He definitely in Top 3 already, need a whole season in CL to cemented his position. The only flaw he had is his playing style rarely doing sliding tackle. That alba goal comparing with Immobile chances which nicely being tackled from behind by Miranda is just too beautiful, and alba goal easily an be prevented by masterclass tackled like that. But I acvepted as part of his playing style and it would be hard to changes, and he just covered it with superb standing tackle skill and reading the games well. Thats how miranda is perfect for him since he is the one who doing dirty work when play alongside Skriniar.
