Eh, ideally we’ll scrape a top 4 spot regardless and be free in the summer. Its really not worth fucking the SA and FFP when we’re so close.

CALM THE FUCK DOWN.

God. This team is in 3rd, and did so while playing like shit most of the time.

We need to make changes INTERNALLY. We can do this without buying anyone.

Stop thinking big spending in January will fix a season.

This squad, in it's current state, is good enough to finish in the top 4.

The leadership has chose to bank on Icardi finding form, 9G returning to finish and playing a leading role and the fringe players supporting us to at least win enough games to finish in top 4.

I for one believe they have made the right choice and will support them on this.

I think we just need a good creative midfielder. We are covered everywhere aside from that, even if we sell Perisic.

I agree.
Why giving this coach more players, after all the players he requested so far, have been so shit, that you cant pick who stinks more.
Spalletti doesn't deserve anymore players. He got who he wanted, and he has good enough players to at least hold on to 4th spot.
Also, why bring players for a coach, who you know gonna get fired in six months time?

The team goal was already said out loud last Christmas dinner: “It is time to win again, or at least start talking about winning.” Words of Steven Zhang, a very ambitious and meticulous type of person, used to thinking big because in the end, with his family, it has always been like that and with excellent results. What ahead is the year of turning point for Inter, in sporting sense and economically, given that this summer, the club will leave settlement agreement and can finally make their voices heard on the transfer market again. Yet, 2019 did not start according to Zhang’s expectations: one point after the first two outings, with mediocre performances and an intense dressing room. So the president took to the pitch himself personally, calling a Monday dinner with managerial staff and coach Luciano Spalletti. A way to remind this group the direction that the team must be going forward until the end of the season. All under examination, starting from the coach despite the fact that he just recently renewed until 2021. Conte’s shadow will continue to hover over Appiano and Spalletti’s future is undoubtedly linked to results: there is third place to be confirmed, would be a lot better if the club can conquer a trophy. In this sense, the game on Thursday against Lazio becomes already decisive. For Spalletti and also for the team.

Certainty - Whatever the results are going to be, the team will be revolutionized. Between contracts to be renew or those that are expiring, it is normal to expect big change partly because only 8 current players are certainly staying. Except for major surprises, the remaining ones are Icardi, Skriniar, Brozovic, Handanovic, Asamoah, De Vrij, Lautaro and Politano which Inter will have to redeem from Sassuolo for €20M. This will be based on whoever are leaving, the probable big money coming in for Skriniar and Brozo. But if you want a great project, you keep your best players.

In balance - Meanwhile Nainggolan, D’Ambrosio, Dalbert, Cedric and Keita, on the other hand, are uncertain for several reasons. The impact of Nainggolan in Milan has been disappointing so far, a bit of physical problems and a bit of his attitude are not always in line with the club’s objectives. Radja was the biggest investment last season and if things do not change course, he can leave in the summer. D’Ambrosio looks to renew contract that expires in 2011 but this is not a priority at the moment. Dalbert has never fully convinced and in the coming months, he will have to prove that he is worthy of wearing the Inter shirt. Same goes for Cedric who just arrived on loan: he will have to show that he deserves the €11M redemption fee. Keita Balde has been convincing but €34M to sign him permanently is a huge obstacle. Inter would like to make that number a bit lower, and maybe by Thursday night, we could see Miranda going to AS Monaco. His move there could lower the cash demand for Keita’s redemption.

Bye bye - Miranda was the first player to become unhappy at this club, Perisic was the last in order of time. But the list of departures is very long and will also include Candreva but only in the summer. Yesterday, Inter told the player that they want to keep him and Ausilio excluded his departure in the evening: “With time and patience, this club will do great things. But our market is closed.” From July on, it is an open game. Joao Mario has suitcase in hand despite being the surprise of the season. Borja Valero will leave and Vecino and Gagliardini will end up on the market, already wanted by Premier League and La Liga, as well as Fiorentina. Vrsaljko could already say goodbye now to return to Atletico Madrid and have a knee surgery. Ranocchia, Berni, Padelli have expiring contract and will not be renewed. At least not until June, and then who knows. Meanwhile, Inter must return to winning or start talking about success. This is the input of Zhang and it does not allow for any misinterpretation.

Not sure if we can rely on late winners against Milan, Napoli, Chievo and others for the rest of the season. Not when your competitors have strengthened well midway.

What's really causing panic is our experience in the last few seasons and how we threw things away. I don't think the competition would be kind enough to fuck themselves over again.

So should Politano.

Only certainties I see are Icardi (with a different agent), Lautaro, Brozovic, Skriniar, De Vrij, Handanovic (with backup).

1-2 of the must stay players will leave because we need money. The Grey ones for the most part aren’t worth much

Skriniar, Icardi are really the only players we need to hold. Fine if we sell everyone else. Keep these two at all cost.

After that Bro and De Vrij tho Vrij was free and if we can get good money why not. Lautaro needs to be loaned if we aren’t going to
Give him minutes but def the real deal just need a coach that plays with 2 strikers

Would love to replace Handa with Obalk. But really as long as we get rid of most of our roster I’d be happy. These guys aren’t good enough to wear Inters color. Will celebrate when’s ranos contract expires

Berni too fk that guy!!

Also use players from our fking youth systems or just shut that program down. How much is inter wasting having a youth team to never give them a shot. Then buy a 30 year old shit player who was a youth player to have some inter youth products as part of our squad

In last summer it seemed like almost perfect mercato but not anymore.

Radja Nainggolan: One of the biggest flops recently and also Inter gave away Zaniolo who is instantly rocking at Roma

Lautaro Martínez: Flop, he was suppose to be ready almost from the start but he has long way to go if he wants a starting spot

Sime Vrsaljko: Couple great games but injured almost all season

Keita Baldé: Pretty much what I expected. Got lesser minutes what I though

Matteo Politano: Didn't have much expectations and he has been average. He got more minutes than I expected

Stefan de Vrij: Great transfer, free and have been even more solid that I expected

Kwadwo Asamoah: Started well but after that has been awful.

Dont think Lautaro is any more capable of hitting an empty net, at least we have seen Icardi bury easy chances

Remember our second derby in Serie A last season? Icardi missed the empty net twice.

If the expectation for Lautaro was to come straight from Argentina and be ready to start then those expectations were flawed from the get-go. It would be unfair to expect such a change to go that seamlessly.

EDIT - I appear to have slightly misread what you wrote; you didn't say "ready to start" and I kinda read it as if you had. In either case, though, I stand by my general point that Argentina-to-Italy was going to be a difficult adjustment for him; it would be difficult on most players his age. And I think, altogether, he's acquitted himself pretty decently to the task, given the sporadic playing time and the level of expectations that the club is playing under.

I really think it's about time to get rid of Ausilio. He has no vision. He's done a couple of great deals but when you draw the line we've spend tonnes and this team is still in dire straits.

Every time we took a step forward we've made two backward, like getting Nainggolan. Good deal on paper - backfired badly. Unearthing Cancelo just to give him away to our rivals, etc. Same for Rafinha. Those deals were structured horribly to begin with. Keita, who will cost us around 40M has been average at best for half a season. I'd expect someone that would cost this much money to instantly start doing magic. Politano is decent, I like him, but he's no starting material for an ambitious club. Vrsaljko is a good player but we should've factored in his injury history, he's played only a handful of games for us and his season is already over. This is a disaster. Of all the transfer he's done last summer the De Vrij one is the highlight but he is a top CB and everyone knows that so it's not like he saw something others didn't. I don't even want to bring up Gagliardini and Vecino who costed us like 50M total.
