You mean you never mention the fact that we spent 9 million on Dodo? I'm pretty sure you do. You bringing that up is talking about finances.
wasted*
We could have gotten him for free and I'd still be talking about it. He's a left back who can't defend. The only thing preventing that deal from being a total disaster is that he is young.. The reason I keep bringing that up is to show that we're not broke, since we have no problem paying excessive amounts with a credit card. My entire point in bringing that up is to show that we're spending, just doing so badly, choosing the wrong personnel over and over again. Better, smarter spending -> better Inter.
Whether or not he'll be crap for us is the point. We've started the season with the intention of signing nobody like him, now we're stuck due to, as you said, a lack of proper planning. So option what option did we have? Tell Mancini to suck it up and use the players signed in the summer as wingers?
Again missing my point.. just because we fucked up in the summer, does that mean we should just sign whoever is available, regardless of the player making the team better or not?
Really? 32 league games out of 34 and 8 UCL appearances makes = reject?
Try bonafide starter. He was the heart of Bayern's defense.
Avoiding the term reject and using it like with Podolski, he's not a reject but he's nowhere near the first team.
Much like Sneijder was. Add to that Samuel who wasn't starting for Madrid, Pandev who was frozen out of Lazio, Eto'o who was forced out by Guardiola and deemed worth to be the value of Ibra + 20 million. Cambiasso on a free transfer when not wanted by Madrid. All of Lucio, Samuel, Cambiasso, Sneijder, Pandev and Eto'o didn't exactly take much persuading to be let go from there clubs. How is that not a similar case here with Podolski?
Dude what the actual fuck are you even talking about? Sneijder was very much part of Madrid's first team, only injuries stopped him from playing more. Eto'o was a bonafide starter for one of the most winningest teams of all time. Pandev fell out with the Lazio management, Cambiasso never fit in the Galacticos, same with Makele (is he a reject too?), Samuel was a bonafide starter in Madrid in his lone season there..
How are any of these players rejects? Are you fucked? A player getting sold does not make him a reject, especially if that player was a key player.. Being in a club for years, being used sparingly like 10 minutes every 4 games, in the prime of your career, even whilst the players all around you are getting hurt, that makes you a reject.... None of these players were even in a remotely similar situation to Podolski and if you truly believe that there are any comparisons in these situations please tell me now, because this conversation has to end because I fear for your sanity.
Podolski would walk into quite a lot of Serie A teams these days, this deal just seems like another way to grasp at a chance of getting into Europe somehow where will will then go and drop more money in the summer for players fitting Mancini. That is assuming of course we don't pull the trigger on Mancini by then.
You're right he would. But would he walk into Juve, Roma, Napoli, Fiorentina or Milan? No! Who the fuck cares if he can walk into a bunch of mid table clubs?! We should be aiming to better the clubs we want to compete with, not a bunch of midtable clubs for fuck sake!
Guess we should just write everyone off over the age of 28 then?
Or maybe you know, try to avoid bench warmers regardless of age and look for players who are actually doing well for their teams? Call me crazy, but these players may actually have a chance of succeeding at Inter..
Schelotto is a lot shitter than Dodo is.
Hindsight is a lovely thing. At Atalanta he was one of Serie A's hottest prospects. He'd done far more in Serie A than Dodo had at this stage.. They're both shit, Schelotto played in one of the worst Inter's of all time, Dodo has much more structure and much better personnel around him and is easily, without question, the worst starter* (not anymore it seems) on this team.
Schelotto's was shit among shit, Dodo is shit amongst something that is showing potential to be something special.. His Lazio performance was disgraceful, one of the worst performances a player of ours has put on this season.
Cheap backup? An option for the other wing. Going through the season with Podolski, Shaqiri, Palacio and Bonazzolli is acceptable.
Cheap backup? Yet one of our highest earners..
His wages, don't just vanish, FYI. Bonazzoli is a cheap backup, Podolski is an expensive buddy for Vidic to play with. To put him on the other wing making him a starter is a bad thing. How are we ever supposed to properly challenge our rivals with inferior personnel?
Podolski can swim though.
This has nothing to do with Podolski, it has to do with us. We sure as hell can't. That's why we're 11th.
