You guys refuse to accept Inzaghi sees Acerbi as his second option at lcb and this has been the case since the day Acerbi was signed. Whenever Bastoni was absent or needed a rest Acerbi had always played as lcb. In case of an emergency there's also Augusto. Inzaghi has always had a clear hierarchy for every position and in his mind Bisseck isn't needed on the left. Instead he is more needed on the right when Pavard was injured or now that Darmian plays more often as rwb.
I refuse, still, even though you absolutely right. The constant concern is due to the long season. Acerbi, Darmian and Mkhitaryan need a breather to keep them relatively fresh. So for example if Bastoni goes down against Fiorentina and is unable to plsy against Juve wouldn't Inter be better off with Augusto there than Acerbi? Or is that essentially equally naive since Carlos is the designated sub for Dimarco. Guess Inzaghi should just say at one of his pressers "So it written, so it is done".

Bisseck is probably considered only on the right side because he's right footed. Even he has experience playing on the left (?) it doesn't mean he'd be good at it, in our system.

Actually against Napoli, Bisseck played as a central CB when he got in.

I dunno a better place to ask this question, but what's the requirements for South American players to be eligible to apply for Italian passports?

I was just thinking about for future years - doesn't seem to be hurting us right now in 2023-'24 - that we only have three South American players in the squad. Think back across our history, of course the treble team in 2010, and those teams had several South American players (esp. Argentines) around. We have a rich legacy with South American players, and of course South America is a huge hotbed of talent. Only seeing three South American players in our squad feels like not doing our job scouting the continent better, but when you have a two player non-EU max limit, obviously that's pretty fuckin' restrictive. Now, given that our three South Americans include Lautaro and Cuadrado, who have played in Italy for years, I'm guessing they've already received proper clearance and don't count against our quota (Cuadrado's gone after the season anyway). The other is Augusto who is a dual-Brazilian and Italian citizen so he's cleared too. The only non-EU player (I'm assuming) we have right now is Buchanan. In any case, I've never looked into what the process is for South Americans in Italy so this would be something helpful to know.

It’s a bs requirement

All South Americans are Spanish. We should qualify as a sorry for the fkd up stuff we did to your great grandmas

As what happens agents get false paper work so everyone has an Italian grandma. Cough Juve tried it with Luis Suarez. Nelson Rivas the blackest guy in the universe was somehow German

Yet Falcaos grandfather was from England and they wouldn’t give him a visa. So the whole euro visa is total BS

Issue with South-Americans is their constant travels back there in NT breaks. It takes its own toll which is not optimal and in some rare occasions they might even miss a game (or starting spot there) like happened with Lautaro few years ago.

Of course if you can get talent cheaper, that's the thing you can pursue but I wouldn't pay too much attention to specifically the nationality.

Didnt ADL do this with africans due to AFCON?

I couldnt care less but it does make a logical argument, you want players who are available more often than not. And if they're away for long periods at a time then you have to take that into consideration.

If Lautaro was African, it would not have been great for us over the last 8 weeks..

If the Zielinski/Taremi deals go through, curious as to how many more changes we will see. Last summer was an exception as it seems we changed about 11 players or so.

Our out of contract players this summer are Klaassen, A. Sanchez, and Cuadrado and it sounds like we have replacements for all three (Buchanan, Zielinski, Taremi). There may be changed in the goalkeeping situation.

I assume Dumfries may get sold so we'd need a new wingback. Outside of that any new signings would be dependent on any further outgoings.

I think Darmian should only be used as an RCB. I guess 'problem' is we also have Bisseck who should be getting more minutes. Technically we have 6 CBs but the probably is there is no LCB backup role, as Acerbi (who's a CCB starter takes that role). Darmian can essentially cover the wide CB roles and wingback roles (as a 3rd option) when necessary.

Bisseck also could operate as LCB if simone wants. He played there in a lot of occasion at Aarhus last season.

anyone know how many players will inter have to sell in the summer? Will Dumfries be enough? In last years we've gotten a bunch of reports by this time, how we have to make 50-60m, but this year only thing i read was Marotta saying we have to sell one player.

if we go on a long run in CL and sell Dumfries, maybe that's enough

Imagine if we have money, Marotta, Ausilio and co would form team that would be CL winner for many years. Look what they are doing with minus budget.

Not so sure about that, but yeah we would have a more competitive squad for sure. Or maybe some of our players wouldn't leave, like Skriniar, Hakimi,...
