But is our amortization cost as high as it was in 2020-21? Don't think it's close enough.
Our revenues are significantly higher, CL run or not. The "extra" CL money is significant this year, but that's only because we anticipated failure (group exit) because that's what we had when we spent a shitload of money and we don't do that anymore.
Our salary budget is ~30% lower than 2021.
This is the last year we're carrying "handshakes". Sanchez being the last one and we're taking the 100% of the hit now.
Our sponsorship is shaky, but it should get better after the deep CL run, potential final appearance.
We're still getting the Coppa final money this year, and probably the winning coupon as well.
Our major issue is that we're still wasting money and we don't see the relative sporting return (Correa, Dzeko, Lukaku, De Vrij, Handanovic, Brozovic and Gosens this year).
Future isn't great, but it's not as grim as some make it out to be. It's all down to not mismanaging our assets and not committing to any bad deals (ie Correa or getting Lukaku back after next season). If we somehow end up with a new ownership, all the better!
@pier shed your lights, hopefully tomorrow after you recover from the celebrations of our advancement to the final
