Hes a decent player but he’s so tiny. Physicality isn’t everything in football but he’s defensively someone you have to compensate for.

I agree with you it would be better if we signed a physical DM as vice Brozo. We lack bringing physicality from the bench when we need to defend a lead. And this issue is going to become even bigger with the departure of Vidal. Also it would be very useful to have a defensively solid DM considering Inzaghi plays a high line. The problem in that occasion is you would also need to have a playmaker in one of the advanced midfield roles. Barella and Hakan have good passing and they can create chances but they aren't playmakers. You would lack in creativity big time if you played a physical DM alongside our current CMs.

I think physical, muscular, whatever defensive DM is not enough to be vice-Brozo. IMO Gagliardini can be attributed to be a defensive midfielder. But he's not a player you can pass the ball to from defence and be pretty certain he can distribute it to the team mate. We need regista capable midfielder. Physical preferable yes, but he needs to be able to play the ball. This is our bread and butter in our game as we've seen when Brozo hasn't been around.

Il Drago pointed out this problem that we need the playmaking capability. Regista role is very specific, or more like the attributes needed to be able to play the regista role in this Inter team. Some grunt DM added to this team IMO is not gonna be enough.

Someone like Anguissa would be a dream signing. If we could find such signing, it would be great. If Agoume could grow to become our Anguissa, that would be even greater. I don't know if there's potential to Agoume to be such player, let's hope he has and it pans out before we sell him so he can stay with us. I haven't watched Brest so can't say how Agoume is playing there. They are saying he's doing good, is a starter etc but that doesn't mean he would fit to our style of play.

I understand the thought process however I’m not sure I agree. When you look at Liverpool’s midfield that won champions league for example it was Henderson - Fabinho - Wijnaldum. Having a workman like midfield allows for creativity and flair to come from other positions. We attack with 2 strikers, wingbacks and often the outside CBs. Having a spine that is sturdy would only allow for that more. You could let Gosens stay higher up the pitch or play Hakan closer to the strikers, which is arguably a better role for him. You could even fit a player like Sensi in the midfield more comfortably. There are more options when you have an actual DM. Only Italian teams require a “regista.”

Bissouma is great but he is under investigation for sexually assaulting hence no club takes the risk right now. He would be cheap but it’s a gamble.
