Please remember that there are rumours of Taremi being lazy. At best he can be an older Lautaro, at worst he can be another Arnautović. So I guess we are hoping for the best and that those rumours won't mean shit because Inzaghi will set certain expectations on him.

If it was Lautaro - Thuram - Carboni - Zirkzee - Taremi for next season, I'd be thrilled, but it's probably going to be Lautaro - Thuram - Correa - Taremi - Arnautović, which is objectively worse than this season.

Dzeko was world class.

Taremi was just decent.

It's all about whether he'll tick with the team and role.

He is probably going to be better than Arnautović, just not by much. Hopefully he doesn't shit his pants like Arna in the first half of the season.

Mediocre player in the twillight of his career at age 32, coming from playing 5 years in a much weaker league during his prime and who is a having a fairly horrid season right now.

I actually like this signing, he is not like Sanchez or Dzeko (basically "has beens"), but I think he has the qualities & experience (not to Toro's level) and drive to do well, and he does not seem to have mental hurdles or injuries problem like Arna. For someone that never got to play at the top level, either they will try very hard and know their place (caged lion) or they will pussy out (Dalbert). He does not seem the pussy out type, if not he has the resemblances of a more civilized Deigo Costa.

I think he will be very useful for us, especially no transfer fees.

Honestly, 10 - 15 years ago I'd share your opinion, but, for reasons unknown to us, mfs been swinging mad dick up to 36 yrs old the past 5-8 years. So age for me is not an issue at all.

Perhaps a silver lining to the fact that he is getting on in age is the fact that he’s a late bloomer type. A player who didn’t have the opportunity to do ‘important’ things in their career until later on. The opposite of Arnautovic in a way and not too dissimilar to Milito, although I’m not saying Taremi is on that level. This is only really a benefit though if it means he is willing to work harder than the average player to succeed here; we will see.

I’m at least pretty sure he is better and more agile than Arnautovic, so bring it on.

If this dude scores 6-8 goals in the league and a few in the hundreds of cup competitions we'll have in the 24/25 season, he'll have been a good signing in my eyes.

Until we have a squad of 20 starters a la City/Real/Bayern/etc, which seems impossible with Suning, our goals should remain Scudetto and CL knockouts. Taremi seems good enough for that, whereas if we were looking to win trebles we would need a Zirkzee/Julian Alvarez-level player as our third option.

Mehdi Taremi’s contract at #Inter will be valid until June 2026 and include an option to extend until June 2027. The deal is DONE with FC Porto also informed.
