About time. There's so much bullshit a club can handle from the star player before thet have enough. It is clear Icardi lost respect of his teammates and the first thing a captain must have is universal respect which is why Handa is given the band.

I think we sometimes fail to realize that certain decisions CAN'T be held off. If the spat between Perisic and Icardi took place for the reasons suggested and the team has rallied behind Perisic and or simply stood up for themselves over Wandas comments then the captaincy removal while ill-timed is just bad luck not a bad timing decision. Or more importantly, Wandas comments were a bad decision that were ill-timed and forced managements hand = bad luck.

Does this likely sink Icardi mentally and for much of rest of season? Yes it does. Is he definitively our best scorer and most dangerous weapon when on his game? Yes again. Is it better to have the Icardi of the last 2 months with even more drama from Wanda comments weighing down team morale, unity and spirit vs losing Icardi and rolling the dice on the team coming together? Nope. You roll that dice because Icardi has been utter shit and you simply can't believe things would improve based on the facts were hearing.

Have we lost value on Icardi by doing this, we sure have. But here's the deal. I see folks blaming Marotta for rocking the boat, ruling with iron fist, blah blah blah. That decisions like this and the exposure of the Perisic transfer request should not be made public. That we should WAIT to do thing. That is the definition of insanity folks. Since the treble and our sale to foreign owners this club has been late to react, has had players piss in the fans face, has had players disrespect the club and it's been run by the players for FAR TOO LONG. Is Marotta perhaps too harsh? Maybe...But in all honesty, something needed to be done to take back over control...To have the players understand that Inter was not going to LOOK A FOOL AS A CLUB ONLY anymore. That if you choose to be a fuckin moron that we will expose you for your actions...So act right or piss off is the new motto...

I for one would rather we miss the Champion League and stop acting like a toothless club that accepts these behaviors than to qualify and repeat this madness year over year...Let's be honest, the team tactics and talent will not change with this move...It's possible we play slightly more up the middle because LM can combine some but our achieving CL qualification will heavily rely on players who have disappointed all year long (Perisic, N9) to play above the levels they were showing...It's a big gamble but one we had to take for the sake of the team...

Few more notes:

Perisic will fly around the field tonight (whether he'll do anything useful is another question but watch his effort far exceed what you've seen)

LM needs to play simply in the midfield areas and be creative around the 18..Save energy where possible and take advantage of this opportunity.

Icardi while a class finisher has never been a total player and in todays game a traditional #9 is very rarely the answer. Players need to be able to contribute in many facets of the game. He will be missed but his choosing to not travel is confirmation of the decision. He and his horse believe they are above all else. Now they've finally crossed a line and look like shit in the process. I wont lose an minute of sleep over them being exposed.

CDS claims that when Icardi was confronted by Marota and Ausilio with the board's decision to strip him off the Cpt AB, he denied his knowledge of what his wife has said in the Tiki Taka show, but Marotta and Ausilio weren't convinced with his defense and so he stormed out of the club's premise with anger and disbelief.

How should CDS be able to know this?

Nevertheless what happens with the team and without Icardi we've devalued him hugely for the summer. Is there any club going to pay even 100m€ for him anymore?

I think you are under estimating the stupidity of rich clubs and the way the market is going... 110m is not much these days. Icardi is only 25 with 100+ Serie A goals and twice Capocannoniere. Even this season where he has been poor, he has still scored 15 goals in 28 games - thats poor by Icardi's standards, but still pretty decent overall. If a rich club needs a CF, then 110m for Icardi will not be a problem. I don't see many clubs needing a CF, maybe Madrid/PSG or whichever club's striker Madrid/PSG steal.

I also suspect that Juve will be happy to pay this amount just to rub it in. Luckily this exit clause excludes Serie A teams, so hopefully we can make them pay 50% extra just for being such c*nts.

I wouldn't rule out Chelsea. I know they have Higuain bit he's on loan and abramovich was never a fan of 30+ year-old players. Icardi Is basically a younger, probably better version than Higuain and as for wages, he wouldn't cost more than him, and probably less.

I see it as a possible scenario, either with Sarri or another coach

Rube can't afford another 100+mln signing without sales. If you look at their revenues, they already hit the ceiling pretty much, they maximised their matchday revenues, Serie A and UCL prize pool and TV rights incomes are also nearly maximized (they consistenly get to UCL quarter or semifinals and are Serie A's eternal champions)so they can either get new sponsors or sell someone. Yes, they signed pretty hefty new deal with Adidas which is still lower than Chelsea's, for instance. CR7's salary weighs about 60 mln gross annualy in their budget and I am pretty sceptical that they will spend 110-130 millions on Icardi. Mandzukic is old but still reliable for Serie A matches, they also have Moise Kean plus they need new defender as Barzagli will probably retire and Benatia is gone. I can only see Dybala-Icardi swap.

Recent Icardi news surely gave potential bidders some leverage but I don't see our managers as complete idiots who can allow themselves to be lowballed with 60-70mln for Maurito.

How should CDS be able to know this?

That's nothing compared to this: https://sempreinter.com/2019/02/14/...-captaincy-caused-him-to-reflect-about-agent/

“After the decision, Icardi got back to his house which is just a few steps from San Siro, threw himself on the bed and remained there for an infinite time without moving. He felt so destroyed by the escalation cause by Wanda in the last few months that he began to reflect while trying to contact Marotta but it was too late as the decision was made,” their report reads.

That's one hell of a journalism. Either Wanda has started with journalism as well or else, whoever got that report should get whatever top award there is in the field of journalism.

If 30 yo Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern again as his agent said he wanted to do last summer as he wants new challenges (hint: money), and a Chinese club spends 30-40M on him, then I could see Bayern trying to make a move for Icardi. However it all depends on if Lewandowski stays. Bayern has to make a lot of changes next summer and I will keep an eye on them as I think they might make a number of expensive signings

A Chinese club like Suning's? I don't mind.

Latest news according to SportMediaset is we will sell Brozovic and Perisic in the summer to accommodate Icardi as there’s been a complete fallout between the players

If this is true, then this means that Icardi wasn't/isn't supportive of what his wife has done. There is a slight glance of hope that this might take an unexpected turn of events in a positive direction, maybe he needed some time to straighten things out and get his shit together, maybe that's why the management gave him a fake injury timeout.

At this point I'm just speculating based on very few available data. But soon everything will be clear.

Wishful thinking

This is exactly what the media wants from Inter to derail and destabilize us. And our mgmt fell right into it by doing this shit publicly.

Now, minor issues within a team which are NORMAL will get amplified and made to seem like a huge drama.

Another reason why, as MM said, shit should've been done in-house.

making impulsive decisions is in our DNA
While Icardi was never captain matieral neither on nor off the pitch, he is a great striker and one of the few smart transfers we made in the last 9 years. Instead of stripping him from the capitancy midway through the season we could have simply kept all the irritating and immature behaving off him and his wife in the back of our heads and sold him for great profit in the summer.
But we adore controversy and now we have a zebra as a manager
