Mauro Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara has spoken again, assuring “we are working on a new contract with Inter and we don’t want to leave.”

She is his wife and also his agent, but has been stirring up controversy with her comments over the last few days.

This afternoon she spoke to RTL 102.5 radio and gave another version of events.

“Mauro loves Inter, he is not interested in money, (meaning : I am the one who is interested in money ) just the jersey and staying here. This is why last year we sold 50 per cent of his image rights to Inter. I sorted out this situation in order to let him stay.

“As of today, the situation is that there was a verbal agreement that when Inter got a bit more money, they’d sort out his contract.

“At times I have meetings and speak with people without Mauro even knowing about it , but I know what he wants: to stay at Inter.

“I am trying to reach an agreement to stay here and in fact to extend the contract with Inter by another year.”

He's 29 and he is in his prime. Super professional and a natural athlete, he has at least 4 good years left in him IMO. That's a long time in football terms and I think he could help us get into CL immediately next year.

I would also trade Icardi for a 30 year old Milito or a 30 year old Zlatan. 30 doesn't mean you have nothing to offer or turn to shit over night. We still have plenty of young talent.
