Well, in all fairness. Icardi has WTF miss every game, not a couple a season.

He isn't perfectly clinical by any means but he certainly doesn't miss 100% chances every game. Not like the tap in he missed against Empoli, now what was bad. He's been more wasteful the last month of so but there were long stretches this season he barely got service and was still able to score goals. He can be clinical at times.

like I said, Higuain has it all to be as good as Rooney or Aguero...but he just isn't. While I see Icardi as more 'limited' type, but clinical more times in situations where most fuck up. I can see Icardi being the type to perform in big games, something that Pipita just isn't. Even tho he played in a team with superstars (Real), he never performed.

He could've easily reached 30 goals if he didn't fuck up so many chances this season.

And that is why Messi and CR score more.

The club wants to win, we're not going to be selling our top striker and he has signalled his intention that he's staying.

I dont agree on the image issues.

From what I understand currently he retains 100% of his image rights - which is why we seldom ever see him in advertising for Inter (if we have deals with Armani and Volvo and shit our players should be advertising their products) - and why a 50% transfer should (rightly) represent additional cash for him.

The deal seems vaguely to be 3m/season +50% of his image rights, or 2m/season+0% - and given I saw somewhere his image rights are currently worth 2mil, that ties in nicely - but as his reputation boosts we would stand to benefit from holding more of the image rights, rather than paying him CURRENT market value for it.

For me, its the opposite. It is very difficult (and expensive) to buy a striker who scores 20+ goals a season. Icardi has made it. Another good season at his age, and we are talking about 60m+ in todays market. This is the kind of striker you need if you are thinking of building a top team.

While I rate Kovacic, his position is more expendable. We have Hernanes and Shaqiri for his position, and since Mancini does not need a regista, I can't see Kova starting every game next season unless he performs consistently well. If we have to sell one of Icardi or Kova, we will miss Kova less.

Though the way Kovacic has finished this season, I am hoping we can retain both.
