If somebody touches the ball first but it looks like dangerous play, it will ALWAYS be a penalty.

Not every foul is gonna be hard to be taken. Plus in those situations you can easily make a player trip by a simple leg. It was a penalty. Darmian was not careful for the second time in a row. He's experienced enough. He should know better he can not be that reckless inside the box. Fortunately for him and for us, none of them cost us any points.

This guy did so many good things for us. Forcing him to play as rwb gonna undone all great he did. Play him as cb and thats it, Dumfries is back and we have Buchanan, stop ruining his legacy. Rwb position tires him and then his concetration is shit in latter stages of match so penalties like these are no suprise at all.

Dumfries still has some problems. But, I expected to see Buchanan in after we scored the third. Darmian need to be fresh when we start playing midweek as well.

D'ambrosio started as a RB/RWB and eventually found his peace in the RCB role towards the end of his Inter career. Darmian did the same, but recently has the misfortune to be called to the RWB role again. I hope this is just a one-off tactical decision cos Inzaghi isn't the type that would bench a player when they're on their way out. Darmian deserves to be remembered as the steady stalwart and not an ineffective RWB after serving us so well.

Not his best game but it’s hard to blame him. He shouldn’t really be playing wingback anymore, especially not in games at this level. Also, he’s played too many minutes this year.

Darmian's recent form hasn't been that good, so maybe a proper rest will do the trick. Good thing is that Dumfries has been quite solid lately, so he has to take over that RWB position from now on. Darmian can still be impactful, but the guy needs to recharge his batteries for once. He played most minutes out of all defenders so far.

He is done playing RWB. The position is physically demanding for a 34 years old and we don't have sufficient offensive output whenever Darmian plays there. Lino skinned him too easily, we were lucky to get away thanks to the poor shooting. Darmian's role is a backup for Pavard and an emergency sub for Dumfries, nothing more.

Not his best game, but let's give some credit to Lino he was Atletico best player. Agree, Dumfries should be the starter in the away leg. Maybe Buchanan should start vs Lecce, but he won't, especially if Bisseck starts.
