Sky Italia believes Inter are ready to pay the €24m release clause of Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino.

The Uruguayan got three goals and four assists in Serie A this season, and has a release clause which is valid until August 10.

It’s thought the payment can be split into two equal sums of €12m over the next two years, and Sky believes the Nerazzurri are ready to activate the clause.

Coach Luciano Spalletti is a big fan of Vecino, and reportedly wanted to take him to previous club Roma.

The mooted transfer would also reunite the 25-year-old with Borja Valero, who left the Viola to join Inter earlier this month

Di Marzio saying that Inter is really interested!

Why not? Gagliardini has worked well. Better than buying old fucks with no resale value.

24m is steep but..

The james deal is exceptional for Madrid and another example of them just getting players developed and buying time. At the end of the loan deal, James will be 27 and in his prime. Ronaldo will be 34. Modric 33. Benzema 32.

If another great or greater player is around, they'll get some decent change for James and buy the hotter player. Or just bring him back and use him at his prime.

Expect they're trying to do the same with Morata (again; like they did with Juve deal), which is probably why it hasn't been done as yet.

We badly need a DM and if we can't get Matic, we should keep Vecino on ice. Also look at Illara and Trigueros. Even N'didi at leicester is worth a look.

I've liked Vecino for a few seasons now. Very confident player on the the ball. Nothing flashy, but never has a bad game.

24 years old is not youth last time I checked, I might be wrong though, 35 is the new 25, so 25 must be the new 15.

Are we going to make a move for Badelj next? Just so we can have the full Fiorentina midfield?

Anyways, for those interested here is his performance vs Italy:

I'm on board with this transfer. I would prefer someone a bit better defensive, but if we play with a midfield three of Gagliardini, Vecino, and Valero, that will be our best on the ball midfield in a decade.

Care to elaborate for those of us that are less informed?

I like his non-existent creativity. our midfield with Vecino - Borja - Gags will be very static. if someone shadows borja then we are out of the game.

Even though i am not a big fan of Badelj i think going for him instead of Vecino would make more sense as he would come at a much lower price. Vecino isn't a bad player but for 24m i want a serious upgrade over what we currently have. And Vecino can't be a major upgrade in our midfield. I am not even sure he would be a starter considering Spalletti intends to play 4-2-3-1. Btw i know they weren't realistic but going from Nainggolan, Vidal, Naby Keita and Matic to Vecino is :palm:

He has much better attitude than Kondo and Brozo, I hope we will get him and sell at least one of them.
