Around 60% of those highlights are just slapstick errors from the opposition defenders.

Also what’s with the guy giving him a rating for things like “Leadership” and “Bravery”? Why stop there? Why not give him a rating for his goal celebrations or baking skills?

mailsport - Arsenal, along with Tottenham, West Ham and Everton, are thrilled with the prodigy of Inter, Martin Satriano . The Italian giants could be forced to sell the young striker due to their financial woes.

I mean it's the Mail, I doubt it.

On the other, fuck it, sell everybody, start back from Serie C, who cares.

Next Lautaro?

On the other hand, he is already 20 years old. Thats a bit too old for a promising striker who never taste first team football experience. Even esposito is 2 years younger than him

Like the attitude. Unfortunately he won't get much time here so i guess some loan will be better.

He was very good.

Already?

To me that's just absurd to say 20 years is a bit too old. Not every striker is next Aguero, or even Lautaro. Every player is a unique individual with their own development arch.

It'd take a lot of work to collate the data, but I'd wager tht the probability of someone, aged 20, with no first team minutes under his belt making a top level professional career in football is <5%.

I wish I could find the stat, but IIRC City looked at the quarter finalist teams in the CL at some point in time, and something like 75% of the starters were first team regulars aged 17/18. The fall off gets pretty dramatic pretty quickly.

Yeah, of course, it's not impossible he will 'make it' still, but its *extremely* unlikely. 16-19 is the formative years, if someomne is aged 20 and not playing Serie A on loan, I'd rather we just let them go.

Come to think of it, why do we even have a 20 year old in the primavera?

Satriano was brought to Europe from South America in the same transfer window when Eriksen arrived. I think the idea was to give him time to learn how to play in Europe and settle in and it seems he made his work, because yesterday he outplayed Pinamonti who has about 50 appearences in Serie A.
Anyway, I think it would be better to loan him out, Satriano is too similar to Lautaro and we would need another striker's profile on the bench.

Yeah, I am not saying he will never be a good or decent player because he is 20 years old now. Its just that the hype on him on this game was merely because he is primavera player and never play with first team before. But, I guess he is a bit old for primavera potential.

Hopefully, he will go on loan to some serie-B and explode in his first season

we need intermilan B
in seria C, so we can test these youngster
otherwise he would be included in loans &loans
and sold for 2 million if he was lucky enought.
the last player that was kept in the team for 3+ years was Mario Balotelli
and that was 10+ years ago!

i find it very interesting that no clubs have really opened up a B team except Juve. You'd have thought maybe Milan, Atalanta, Roma, Sass? would have been primed for it.

Maybe they dont see the value for money? I guess it costs at least a few million a year to run a team like that between infra, travel, salaries, etc... Do we even have stadia that are eligible to be used by them? Time will tell if the Juve B is a success or not

Part of the problem, I guess, is that histoically many of our youth arent even good enough for Serie C. The other part of the problem is that Serie C isnt that helpful - they need to beplaying at Serie B level IMHO 18/19/20 as a regular starter as a minimum to get experience on the right level.

Im not so sure that is true. I think even Serie C level for a 17-19 year old can be beneficial. The important thing is that they’re actually playing. Guys like D’Ambrosio, Di Lorenzo, Insinge, Sensi, etc. were all playing at that level at that age.

I think you could make an argument that for some players that lower level is actually better for their development because they can play with more freedom and less pressure.
