Well the biggest two issues at the time were his injury woes and not being clinical. Luckily no big injury for him so far. Everything else is at a level that is good enough.

As poor as he was last match, we were still knocking forward with him in pitch. Maybe Limone should have kept him a little longer. Alexis just doesn't seem to click yet.

He seemed a bit gassed to me. He's probably playing more games than usual with the CL games and bigger role in the national team, alongside starting for us. We really need Alexis and Arnautovic to be fit to step up in some of these matches.

thuram's done amazingly well, in terms of hitting the ground running just wow - I think a reasonable concern, though, is the lack of a dzeko replacement. We just have no depth up front beyond Lautaro/Thuram, that should scare us imho

Hope is that Arnautovic can offer something, at least against the 'smaller' Serie A teams. Alexis can add a few things but I doubt he'll contribute much in terms of goals.

Comparing his stats to Lukaku this season, Lukaku has 2 more goals, but Marcus has 5 assists, while Lukaku 0.

He's leading the Serie A in assists.

One really good thing about his goals is that they are all 'important', and what I mean by that is it's not a goal to make it 4-0 in a 5-0 game. Out of his 4 goals, 3 of them were to make it 1-0, and one goal to make it 2-0. Technically, all 4 of his goals were winning goals given we kept clean sheet in the 3 matches, and won 5-1 in the match he made it 2-0.

I wasn’t expecting him to this important for us so early on but I suppose that is why we’re paying him 6mil net. What excites me is that he still looks a bit raw at times.

When he finally hits top form, we'll be laughing about Lukaku. All Thuram goals are capital and yesterday's goal was taken very well.

First away goal too. He also had a sprint and the ball was deflected by a blind tackle from that Sazonov guy, otherwise he would've had two goals yesterday. Other than that, deflections, a lot of off the ball work and movement, great work rates.

I really really like him and what he offers. He is always a calming presence on the field too, you don't see him make any gesture, get angry or frustrated. He just does his thing. Grande Marcus.

I think people need a reminder that the plan was always to have both Thuram and Lukaku, instead of revising history that it was THuram OR Lukaku.... Domnt get me wrong, if Lukaku had been here, Thuram wouldnt have the amount of space that he does have now, and would likely not have exploded the way he has, but still.

It's not revisionism, it's more like people were having a meltdown because apparently, there was no way of playing 352 football without the king of Roma and Thuram is showing that not only is it possible but he can actually achieve similar results rather effortlessly. When he plays you can see that he's not reached his top form yet and he is already decisive for us.

This guy can easily score the poacher-goals Dzeko scored but can also dribble and be way more useful in counters...

Current Džeko can finish better but Džeko is also too costly for us to be a third option in attack and kinda finished as an athlete. Us, bigger people, usually don't have such long careers.

Thuram isn't exactly better at finishing than Lukaku (I would say they are about at the same level), but everything else, the poise, the dribbles, setting up other players, Thuram takes the cake, easily. Glad we got him and not the Belgian Waffle Man (I was trying to say something mean and that was all I got, too sleepy to think right now)
